[Video] Gramatik Announces 2014 Winter Tour

Gramatik is one of the funkiest EDM producers in the game right now, and yesterday announced plans to head back out on the road in 2014. The Slovenian-born DJ made the announcement alongside a video from his recent sold-out show in Athens, Greece as part of his 2013 Age of Reason Tour. Gramatik will be in Chicago around New Year's Eve for a pair of dates at Concord Music Hall and The Auditorium Theatre on the 30 & 31 respectively before taking off to Canada to begin his tour in Drake's hometown of Toronto on January 16. Established one of the more gifted producers in EDM, Gramatik's compositions can get fans worked into a frenzy or set the mood for a perfect wavy, chill afternoon. Ringing in the new year with his music wouldn't be such a bad way to start 2014.  Tickets went on sale for the general public earlier today, so make sure to pick yours up here, for the New Year's Eve shows put on by REACT Presents, kick it here. [Mixtape] Flying Lotus: "Ideas+drafts+loops"

The holiday spirit is heating up as the end of the month creeps closer everyday. Keeping with the theme of this time of the year, super-producer extraordinaire Flying Lotus dropped a heaping of new material. Casually floating 24 remixes, un-heard cuts, tracks and beats that didn't quite make the cut for his upcoming project, a follow up to his latest release, Until The Quiet Comes, FlyLo set the bar for his next official album. Of the discarded tracks arranged together as Ideas+drafts+loops are workings with Earl Sweatshirt, Thundercat, Mapei, Viktor Vaughn and DJ Mehdi, as well as an out of this world remix of Kanye West's "Black Skinhead". For a lack of poetic prose here, Flying Lotus is just awesome, and the fact that he would opt to drop such a collection of work on a whim, for free, speaks volumes not only about him as a person, but also about the music he has cooking up. If he's confident enough to drop these, what could he possibly have in store? Who knows. For now, enjoy the smorgasbord of new music to get you through those cold winter days. Download link below and stream of FlyLo's "Black Skinhead" remix below, as well.

[Mixtape] Netherfriends: "Beats in Bed"

Production wizard Netherfriends doesn't exactly have a bed right now. Having spent the past month or so on the road touring America with Rich Jones and currently in the midst of what he calls an "endless tour" that has spanned three years, a bed is more of a luxury than an expectation. It is because of this reason that, after returning to Chicago for two weeks not moving anywhere, he was so excited to spend some time relaxing in his girlfriend's bed after she left for work each day. In his words, "She would go to work during the day and because I didn't have a winter coat, I never wanted to leave the house... or the bed."

Thus, Beats in Bed was made. Ever pumping out new creative content, Netherfriends was able to craft a project that is centered loosely around Ethiopian Jazz samples while adding the drum sequences live from on top of the sheets. As for what's on the horizon: "I have a new single from my first studio album P3ACE. The song is called Joey Vision. It's the most epic song about mediocrity. Plus 6 Kind Of Buzzed volumes that I still need to release. I am heading to Austin in December to mix and finish my garage rock album Logan Square and Kanye sample album Netherfriends Goes West." Netherfriends has been crisscrossing the country for awhile now, spreading funky tunes far and wide, he deserved a rest, we're just lucky he doesn't stop working when does so. [Video] Dream Koala: "Odyssey"

It might not come as a surprise to many that the artist known as Dream Koala is a bit different from most. Born in Paris to Brazilian parents, Yndi Ferreira was bound to have a diverse pallet from which to cull his personal musical stylings. Having remixed tracks for Angel Haze and The 1975, Ferreira stepped onto the music scene at large last year, exposing himself to the world as Dream Koala. On September 23, the 18-year-old producer released his debut project, Odyssey, for which the debut song gets a video today. Describing his musical flare, Ferreira says: “I want to have my own genre by mixing all my influences together,” Yndi explains. “To me, everything is connected - be it the genius of Flying Lotus or the ethereal beauty of My Bloody Valentine."
