Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill developing TV series with Q-Tip

The chemistry between Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio in last year's The Wolf of Wall Street was palpable, as praised heavily in my review of the film. Apparently, that chemistry extended itself to at least a partnership beyond the camera as Deadline is reporting the two co-stars are developing a TV series with The Abstract himself, Q-Tip. The proposed series will be inspired by the iconic rapper's life during the '80s and '90s during the Native Tongues era with a focus on friendship and how the Afrocentric, conscious style of hip hop influenced the genre and culture from then to even modern times.

Q-Tip has been extremely busy as of late, dropping the long-awaited collaborative project The Dragon and The Abstract with Busta Rhymes, as well as playing the (supposedly) final A Tribe Called Quest shows ever as part of Kanye West's Yeezus Tour. A TV show influenced by the Native Tongues era is an amazing idea that can introduce the "Golden Era" of hip hop to current fans who may not be aware of it.

As of right now, no cast or crew has been announced for the series, but the three will be pitching the series to all of the networks soon.

[Mixtape] Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip: "The Abstract and the Dragon"

Pretty much anyone who grew up in the '90s (actually who doesn't know this song) knows A Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario" featuring Busta Rhymes. It was one of the biggest hits to come out of the Native Tongues collective, and one of those songs that, no matter where you are, you have to sing along with Bust's line "RRRRAOWR, RRRRAOW, like a dungeon dragon". It's actually very interesting that Busta and Tip haven't done a project together before this.

As the trailer to the project showed us, these two icons came up together and are the bestests of friends. Their chemistry is undeniable and I really hope we get to see them tour together next year. Last week, MTV released Busta's "Thank You" track featuring Yeezus and Weezy that will be on Busta's E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) 2. Earlier this week, we got visuals for the track, and last night, the interwebs was treated to the full mixtape, The Abstract and the Dragon. Filled with the Abstract's production and classics, this is a must download for any head or any new music lover that hasn't heard some any of these classics. You can download and stream the mixtape below.

[Video] Busta Rhymes: "Thank You" (Ft. Lil Wayne, Q-Tip & Kanye West)

Busta Rhymes has been making a comeback of sorts since signing with YMCMB last year, and today dropped the video for his star-studded, feature-heavy track, "Thank You" featuring Busta's former, A Tribe Called Quest collaborator, Q-Tip as well as Kanye West and his boss, Lil Wayne. The video, directed by Director X, shows Busta doing his thing with some ladies and has cameos from the likes of A$AP Ferg, Fashawn and Mack Wilds. You can find "Thank You" on Busta's expected 2014 release, E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) 2. For those who can't wait that long, you may be in luck. There have been rumors of a Busta Rhymes/Q-Tip collaboration by the name of The Abstract & The Dragon, expected December 12.
