Kanye West's Pre-College Dropout Unreleased Song
Do you remember before the whole Yeezus thing Kanye West went by the name the Louis Vuitto Don? Since then we have seen the evolution of Kanye West for almost a decade since the College Dropout was released. Well now an unreleased track has surfaced from Kanye two years before College Dropout even was released. The track comes from the artist Mykela titled "Candy" in which Kanye not only dropped a verse but also produced it. Check out the track and go back in time before Yeezus and listen to the development of Kanye since then.

[Video] Eminem: "Berzerk"
It looks like Slim Shady is back and in top notch form. With some production assistance by Rick Rubin, Eminem went completely "Berzerk" on his first official single from The Marshal Mathers LP 2, which has stans all over the world hyped-up to hear what he has been working on recently. The visual didn't disappoint either, doing a great job to encapsulate the nostalgic feeling the song exudes. Hilarious cameos by Kendrick Lamar, Kid Roch, The Alchemist, and more also add to its replay value. Peep below.

[Mixtape] Curren$y & Young Roddy: "Bales"
Not too long ago, a 'tape between Curren$y and his label-signee, Young Roddy, was announced to be in the works, and it was supposed to hit the streets shortly after. Well yesterday, the two rappers dropped Bales, an 11-track project, dedicated specifically to all the #JetLife fans out there who had been expecting a new release from the camp. A standout joint from the tape is "Walkie Talkie," which was produced by Chicago's own and prominent Spitta collaborator, Thelonious Martin. Check out the song below and the whole project after the jump.
Jay Z announces North American Magna Carter World Tour dates
Talk about oneupmanship. The dust hadn’t even settled following Kanye West’s announcement of his Yeezus Tour when Jay Z decided to announce the North American tour dates for his Magna Carter World Tour. The rivalry/friendship between the Watch the Throne members is such an interesting dynamic to watch, especially when it results in music for fans. Still, Jay could have given Kanye this one and not stolen his thunder so early in the morning. As if the timing of his announcement wasn’t bad enough, tickets for the tour are going on sale on September 12, one day before Kanye’s Yeezus Tour tickets are available. This begs the question: If you’re strapped for cash, who are you going to go out to see, Kanye or Jay Z?
Nevertheless, North American tour dates for Jay Z’s Magna Carter World Tour are below. In the meantime, let’s all replay the “Holy Grail” video over and over until Jay hits our towns.

Grade Aplus: "Cold as Fuck"
Grade Aplus is off of the shrooms and back to "a little weed, little Tanqueray" with his new song, "Cold as Fuck." Rapping over Smoke DZA and A$AP Rocky's "4Loko," the Chicagoland rapper goes in about weak crews in the rap game as a reactionary comment on Kendrick Lamar's verse on "Control." Check it out and see if you can catch all of the references the LOD rapper makes without having to look up the lyrics.
[RH Photos] North Coast Music Festival 2013 Day 2
Photography by Geoff Henao
Day Two of North Coast Music Festival in Union Park went off much smoother than the 2013 debut a day earlier. With the sun finally shining down and the heat pounding festival-goers, things got off to a fast start. Chicago's own Porn and Chicken got things going with their 2:30 set at the Last Stand Stage, picking up where frat-dance kings Milk n' Cookies warmed up the stage earlier.
After floating through the following sets and checking out a truly inspired set from Conspirator, I found myself torn between the silky smooth tones of Aloe Blacc, the rough-edged hip hop of Flatbush Zombies and the endearing DJ sounds of Thibault. I ended up making the rounds to each briefly, unfortunately missing most of Flatbush due to simply not being able to navigate the festival properly. Between Bondax, Gramatik, Future Rock and the smattering of EDM/Dance acts on the Tent Stage, the Saturday afternoon air was soon completely inundated with the glitchy sound of digital music. Being a big fan of both Gramatik and Bondax, it was disappointing that organizers pushed so many similar acts together and brought about memories of monotonous EDM festivals of earlier months.
Emerging from the dense electronic jungle, Nas took the North Stage to close it out for the day. The New York MC showed precisely why he is one of the most decorated hip-hop acts in the history of the genre, filling his hour-long set with tracks from his entire discography. Dipping back to Illmatic for timeless hit ("The World is Yours", "Life's a Bitch", "Memory Lane") and peppering more recent work from several albums (God's Son, Stillmatic, Life is Good), Nasir Jones put on a show that won't soon be forgotten at North Coast.
EDM made it's way back to the stage in two forms to close out Saturday, with Big Gigantic and Afrojack bringing up the rear as the day's headliners. Jeremy Salken and Dominic Lalli continued their string of impressive Chicago shows by performing their instrumental take on the genre that includes live drums and saxophone, drawing one of the biggest crowds of the weekend. A meet and greet organized through Thissongissick.com kept the pair standing stage-side for hours. For his part, Afrojack held things down, giving fans a grittier dance experience from the other side of the festival grounds and closing out what was easily the biggest day at North Coast for anyone trying to dance.
Eminem: "Berzerk"
Eminem made one of the biggest announcements of the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards when he revealed the release date for his next project, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, the sequel to his multi-platinum 2001 Interscope release that rocketed Em to the international spotlight. "Berzerk" is an ode to 80s punk-rap days, likely an ode to the tunes Marshall grew up with as a young Detroit hip-hop head. Check out the promotional video for the song below.
