Pablo Inirio: Editing Before Photoshop

Not everyone can create an iconic image, there are a lot of variables involved and sometimes it just a stroke of luck but it does take skill. "Pablo Inirio, long time master printer for photographer cooperative group, Magum Photos, has laid his hands on some of the most famous photos of all time." Now as you can see the photos have notes written all over so Inirio knew where he wanted to edit the photo whether by lighting or darkining areas to create the final image. Before digital cameras and photo shop a photographer would use a dark room to edit their film the way they pleased and Inirio has still been working like this even with all the new technology. Check out the photos and for more visit psfk here.

[Photography] IG Weekly: WILLPRINCEART

It seems like everybody is on their phone scrolling through photos deciding which ones to post on Instagram. It’s so easy to do, whether you’re a photographer or not; just point, shoot, choose a filter, then post whatever you created. From the funny duck face selfies to breathtaking landscapes to gritty city streets, some use it as visual journal giving glimpses of their lives. Others have taken it to another level creating works of art. All of us at Ruby Hornet are fans of the social media platform and decided to do a weekly series of highlighting people whose Instagrams we feel are cool. Let us know in the comments section if you’d like to be featured, or let us know about some other cool Instagrams. Be sure to follow the Ruby Hornet Instagram, too.

This week’s featured Instagram comes from @willprinceart. The cool thing about Instagram is that you don't have to only share you photos. Because of this Instagram opens the door for a lot of artists to showcase their work worldwide. One Instagram I came across was from the artist @willprinceart who's account is filled with a lot of familiar faces. He has created some awesome pieces so far and I'm interested to see the next portraits he creates. Make sure to check out his account for some pretty dope art and hit that follow button.

Esquire: A Portrait of the American Man Now

It's almost hard to believe that Esquire has been around for eighty years coming into creation in 1933. They have been around for many events in history that have come to shape modern America. To celebrate their eightieth anniversary Esquire has decided to photograph eighty prominent men of various ages, one born in each year the magazine has been around. According to Esquire, "most, even some of the youngest, have left their mark on the country, and together their faces are a breathing timeline." You will recognize a lot of the faces and together Esquire feels that all of them together portrays the history of the modern American man. For more information on the project and the rest of the photos visit Esquire here.

Rare Photographs From Warhol's Own Camera

Andy Warhol is an art icon and many people are very familiar with the art that he created, from the colorful Marylin Monroe portrait to the infamous Campbell Soup cans. But many are not aware that Warhol also was fond of photography and would carry a camera everywhere he went, documenting his life in the process. He'd capture the stars that we was surrounded with and capture intimate moments of his life and the world he saw around him. He would use either 35mm film or Polaroids and eventually created a large body of work that shows us a different look at Warhol's life. Jim Hedges has collected a large amount of Andy's photographs that will be shown at the New York Design Center in New York City in the exhibition, I’ll Be Your Mirror. Check out some of the images Andy captured, and for more head on over to Time here.

Miley Back In The Studio With Terry

Miley is back in Terry Richardson's studio this time with a little less twerking, but it's still Miley being Miley. As we come to expect from the pair, in these second set of photos Miley is wearing next to nothing with lots of tongue action and the signature poses Terry is known for. The photographs have been released in anticipation of Miley’s new music video for “Wrecking Ball” directed by Richardson which you can see here. All eyes have been on Miley, and I'm sure she'll continue to give everyone something to talk about so. For the rest of the photos visit Terry's Diary here.
