[RH Photos] Lollapalooza 2015
Photos by Bryan Allen Lamb.
Lollapalooza 2015: it came, it conquered, and it closed early. But not even Sunday's crappy, unpredictable weather could put a damper on the weekend’s festivities. Packed full of artists of every genre, Lolla brought us the latest and the legendary, once again proving that this monster of an event cannot be tamed or topped. From Friday to Sunday, Lolla-enthusiasts spent their days and nights trekking back and forth from stage to stage across the large and lovely Grant Park. Though my feet are broken and my body hates me, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. But if you did, here’s a recap on my weekend in Lolla land.
[Songs of the Day] 3/26/14 (Feat. Chance The Rapper, SZA, Sam Smith & More)
Alright, an post-SXSW Song of the Day is back with a ton of good tracks to get you through the hump of the week. Leading things off is Chance The Rapper's latest, "Home Studio", produced with his team, The Social Experiment in his California-based home studio. The track features more of Chance's evolution into singing and adding vocal runs which seems to get better with every track. Chano also popped up on TDE-affiliate SZA's latest track, "Child's Play" which dropped the same day, alongside another familiar face in Vic Mensa who got on Asher Roth's latest, "Live Fast" off his upcoming project, RetroHash. Jerome LOL offered up a screeching, up-tempo electronic jam in "Feel It For The First Time" while The Code gave fans an ambient feel with their latest in "Her". SaudiMoney linked with another TDE member in Ab-Soul as he offered up a mouthful of a track on "Alejandro Jodorowsky Flow" and California product by way of Chicago, Lee Woods, put her own unique spin on The Spice Girls' iconic track "Say You'll Be There" as she resurrects the 90s on her recently-released Girl Power project. Bringing up the end is none other than British falsetto Sam Smith who offers up something new on "Stay With Me". It's all streaming below, folks.

[Video] Disclosure & Sam Smith Perform "Latch" Live on Fallon
English dance music duo Disclosure made their North American television debut last night, performing their song "Latch" with crooner Sam Smith on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon while in New York City as part of their current tour. The pair proved why they have been vaulted to the forefront of the new music scene in America over the past year, performing with a uniquely interesting stage set-up that I haven't seen on Late Night before, complete with a laser face that mimicked Smith's facial movements as he sang. Disclosure is just the latest in a long line of talented British dance acts and shows why in the video below. Sam Smith absolutely kills on the live vocals, taking the typical electronic set up a notch with the decidedly live addition. Check it all out below.
[Video] Disclosure: "Together" (Ft. Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith, Jimmy Nape)
Disclosure teamed up with Funk legend Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith and Jimmy Nape for a star-studded and talent-packed track that dropped today. The track is jammed full of more funk-slanted aesthetics than most would know how to craft into a succinct track, but the foursome does it admiringly here, creating what many are calling an instant classic. Check out the track for yourself below and decide.
