[Video] Caleb James: #TheJones in LA

SaveMoney's Caleb James recently headed out west and released some footage from his trip to Los Angeles, CA where he's shown working on his forthcoming mixtape, The Jones, dropping July 15th. In this vlog you catch Caleb enjoying the California staples like skating and partying in the sunshine and eating In-N-Out but also working in the studio with Chicago's own Vic Mensa, recording with Blended Babies, and collaborating with a few other characters.

Make sure to support and download The Jones when it drops this upcoming Monday, July 15th and head out to see Caleb perform at  Reggie's on Friday, July 19th - 6:30PM | ALL AGES | $5 Door.

Black Matt: "Don't Blow My High" (feat. Kami de Chukwu)

While we've heard from Kami de Chukwu recently, he's come back for more, this time with my LOD brother Black Matt at the wheel. The two collaborated together for this new new, "Don't Blow My High." Matt comes out of the gates with high energy in his rapid-fire delivery while Kami slows the tempo for a moment; trust me, it's only for a moment.

I'm definitely looking forward to hearing some more Black Matt music, man. We're LOD, spread some good stuff my way!

Chance The Rapper

[Video] Chance The Rapper Freestyle on Toca Tuesdays

Chance The Rapper was in New York all of last week promoting Acid Rap, his upcoming tour opening for Mac Miller and also getting ready to perform his first ever headlining show at NY. Chano hit up various music stations, including Shade 45, in which he stopped by Toca Tuesdays studio to meet DJ Tony Touch and spit a four minute freestyle which you can see below.

Donnie Trumpet: "Zion" (feat. Chance the Rapper & Vic Mensa)

Nico Segal has tapped into his alter-ego Donnie Trumpet for his upcoming project post-Kids These Days and for all of those aware of his last solo project, Illasoul, we know we should be excited for whatever the young trumpeter has in the works. For those not in the known of what Nico is able to do as a producer, his latest single "Zion", featuring Chance The Rapper & --fellow former KTD member--Vic Mensa, should get you hyped enough.

Mick Jenkins: "BOB" (feat. Dally Auston) (Prod. by OnGaud)

The first time I listened to Mick Jenkins was on DJ SuchNSuch's "Negro League", from then on I've kept a close eye on his material hoping to hear more of the quality he delivered on "Negro League". "BOB" is exactly the song I was waiting for and having Dally Auston do a verse plus OnGaud behind the boards has sold me entirely on the potential Mick has. When's the project coming?

[Video] Vic Mensa: "Orange Soda"

It seems like Vic Mensa has been channeling his inner-Kel Mitchell with the latest video for his song, "Orange Soda." A few weeks after he came out with "Did It B4," Mensa's back with the Verluxe-directed video for the next single from his upcoming mixtape, INNANETAPE. The song has a relaxed R&B vibe with a smooth bass line holding the rhythm down behind Mensa's vocal delivery.

You can check out "Orange Soda" below. Remember, INNANETAPE is coming out super soon, but you can catch Mensa and the rest of the SaveMoney Army tonight at FakeShoreDrive's Red Bull Sound Select show at the Double Door. Information on that is here.

Giftz: "Nino" (feat. Tree & SaveMoney)

Giftz' local hit-record "Nino" was a monstrous collaboration with Tree that became an instant favorite among many listeners, so the remix had a difficult mission to fulfill as it tried to match the quality of the OG. Nevertheless, Giftz called in the best crew in Chicago right, SaveMoney, and they came through with that heat you would expect them to deliver. Joey Purp, Kami de Chukwu, Dally Auston, Brian Fresco & Caleb James all spit a verse and kill it with their own style.

Brian Fresco: "Fireworks"

Brian Fresco wasn't satisfied with simply dropping an incredible project, so he decided to let loose "Fireworks", a bonus cut that didn't make the cut for the album. This joint doesn't quite fit with the theme Mafioso had going on, so I understand why it is not in there, but Fresco still murked it and it should definitely be added to your iTunes library!
