New character posters for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
The hype train is going at full steam for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Following last month's new trailer for the film are these new character posters featuring the primary cast. Admittedly, they're nothing special beyond the typical, character one-sheets, but everybody loves The Hobbit, right? With a little more than a month left before the fantasy epic hits theaters, Legolas and Gandalf fans don't have much more time left to get their cloaks, staves, and elf ears ready for midnight screenings.

It's been four months since the last trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and with the film's December release date creeping up slowly, it only makes sense that a new trailer emerged. I admit, I was never into The Lord of the Rings (or any form of medieval fantasy, Skyrim notwithstanding), and the hype over The Hobbit films is beyond me. However, money talks, and the second in the The Hobbit trilogy, The Desolation of Smaug, is bound to make hundreds of millions in the box office at the end of the year.
There are dragons, hobbits, wizards, elves, the ring, and epic orchestral scores - the standard I have come to expect from The Lord of the Rings films. December 13th is the day of reckoning, Legolas lovers. In the gallery below are two new posters to commemorate The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug's new trailer. Enjoy!

The new trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is here! I honestly am not a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings, but with the whole fantasy genre sweeping the population with Game of Thrones-related fervor, I can imagine the masses swarming to see the next film in the Hobbit trilogy will grow even larger. Wizards, dwarves, giants, dragons, forests, and swords will all be the next in line for Hollywood's next big craze, hopefully replacing the over-saturation of zombie films.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues its adventure into theaters on December 13th.
