Kid Cudi graces the cover of the new Complex mag. Cudi tells the folks at Complex that his idea for the shoot was to show the two dueling sides of Scott Mescudi and Kid Cudi.
“I don’t want to transform into a f**kin’ zombie. Every time people come up to me I want to hit them with that smile and shake their hands sincerely. Let them know that I appreciate them approaching me and I appreciate them liking my music,” Cudi says in the article, which also dives into the impact his father’s death due to cancer while Cudi was 11 has had on his life and ways that it is still expressed in the music. Cudi also talks about being compared to Drake, stepping out of Kanye’s shadow, and more…To further illustrate the theme of Cudi’s battles, photos of Cudi are paired with designs by Augor, which accompany the words by Joe La Puma.
