The first Sin City film was a graphic novel film adaptation dream, sticking heavily to Frank Miller’s writing and artistic style. Relying heavily on green screen to create a selective black and white noir tone, Sin City was a landmark for director Robert Rodriguez’s already illustrious career. The sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, has been in the works for years, and with its August release date approaching, footage is slowly being released to give fans an appetizer of what to expect in this next go-around.

This new TV spot for A Dame to Kill For follows last month’s first official trailer for the film and is a quick run-through of what’s to come. The cast has been beefed up exponentially with newcomers Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Don Jon), Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Eva Green, Jeremy Piven, and more alongside familiar Sin City actors Josh Brolin, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, and more. Much like Alex said previously about the first trailer, A Dame to Kill For will be primarily based on Miller’s book of the same name, but will also feature some original shorts made specifically for the film.

If the delay from last October to this August didn’t completely destroy you, find solace knowing that the extra months of post-production will mean the film will look as amazing as it should. Remember: August 22nd is when we can all become super cool noir characters and re-enter the world of Sin City.
