Jackie Chan is making his big return to action films with the upcoming CZ12. The film acts as a psuedo-reboot/remake of the Armour of Gods films that brought Chan international acclaim back in the 80s. CZ12 is a pet project for Chan (he also wrote, directed, and produced the film) that finds him returning as Asian Hawk, a treasure hunter assigned to finding the 12 bronze heads of the Chinese Zodiac.
Despite being close to 50, Chan’s proficiency in exciting, entertaining fight choreography is still intact, as well as his penchant for mixing in bits of humor to his fights. CZ12‘s release in Hong Kong last year made 850 million RMB, becoming the second highest grossing Chinese film in China (behind Lost in Thailand). Hopefully American audiences will enjoy it and Chan’s final action run when it hits theaters on October 18th.
