Who would have the audacity to rob the mob? Apparently, in 1992 New York City, one couple took it upon themselves to, well… Rob the Mob. Directed by Raymond de Felitta (City Island), Rob the Mob is based on a true story of Thomas (Michael Pitt) and Rosemarie Uva (Nina Arianda), a psuedo-Bonnie and Clyde pair that targeted Mafia clubs. As their notoriety grew, so did national coverage of their antics. First ignored by a family head (Andy Garcia), they find themselves stuck between the FBI and the Mafia when they incidentally uncover a mob secret that could take down the organized crime syndicate once and for all.

The crime-thriller looks like an intriguing film that appeases gangster film fans. I admit, I’m not familiar with de Felitta’s past work, but this trailer for Rob the Mob has me hooked. Here’s hoping it can actually deliver when it’s released in theaters on March 21st, 2014.
