David Ayer’s End of Watch starring Michael Peña and Jake Gyllenhaal is, hands down, one of the greatest cop films I’ve ever seen. The first-person shot film followed Peña and Gyllenhaal as two LAPD officers uncovering and busting a huge crime ring that involves the Mexican cartel, causing them to become high-risk targets. Ayer’s next film, Sabotage, is a bit similar, thematically, just ramped up on a larger scale.

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as a hardened boss of a DEA task force that also includes Terrence Howard (Crash), Sam Worthington (Avatar), Mirielle Enos (World War Z), and others. After the group busts a cartel safe house, Schwarzenegger’s superiors notice that $10 million of the take is found missing, alluding to an inside job by one of his squad members. On top of that is an unknown assassin killing each member one by one.

Sabotage looks amazing and a great return to form for the former California governor. I absolutely love Ayer’s style, and the ensemble cast is full of talented actors that are known for their depth and acting rage, bringing some variety beyond the typical meathead-esque characters typically involved in films like this.

Sabotage will be in theaters on April 11, 2014.
