You may not know this, but up and comer A$AP Rocky’s real first name is Rakim. Turns out that he was named after The God Emcee, and that Rocky’s mother once approached Rakim at a traffic stop and got him to sign a pair of diapers. A$AP Rocky had never met his namesake until earlier today, when Angie Martinez surprised Rocky with a special guest during their interview. Rocky was beside himself after meeting Rakim, and even got his mom on the line. I want to thank Angie Martinez for making that happen. It’s a great thing for Hip Hop. Watch the video below.
