More Savemoney to round out the afternoon, this one coming in visual form from Caleb James. A week or so ago Caleb dropped “Freddie“, a track produced by Them People and Caleb himself and featuring Nico Segal on trumpet, about the murder of a friend and the feelings that envelope such an event. With a sample of Curtis Mayfield’s “Freddie’s Dead”, Caleb plays the part of two friends learning of the Freddie’s murder and plotting their revenge. The wordplay back and forth between the  James’s two characters reminds me a lot of vintage Wu-Tang.

To accompany the ill track, Elijah Alvarado delivered a dope visual piece. With some legit green screen action, the director puts James in front of some great classic movie clips and scenery, highlighting the storyline and enhancing the retro sample. Check it out below and be on the look out for an RH Interview with Caleb soon.
