It’s been a very long time since the last proper Deltron 3030 album… 13 years, in fact. The hip hop supergroup consisting of rappin’ ass rapper Del the Funky Homosapien, producer Dan the Automator, and DJ Kid Koala released the space epic Deltron 3030 back in May 2000. The self-titled album served as a bit of a precursor to the entire Gorillaz movement, as Dan and Del linked up with Blur’s Damon Albarn on “Time Keeps on Slipping.”

This upcoming October, the next Deltron 3030 album, Event II, will be released. Today, the first video for the album was released. Featuring actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Don Jon), “Stardate” serves as an intro to the album the same way “State of the Nation” did for the S/T album. Also revealed today were all of the features on Event II running through a list of both musicians and non-musicians, such as Rage Against the Machine’s Zach de la Rocha, AWOLNATIN’s Aaron Bruno, comedian David Cross (Arrested Development), actresses Amber Tamblyn (127 Hours), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Damon Albarn, The Lonely Island, and more.

The album will follow a City Rising from the Ashes EP that features three songs from Event II on August 13. You can also listen to “City Rising from the Ashes” here. Deltron Zero’s back!
