Chicago’s own, Retrospect, initially came under my radar due to their impressive videos for the songs “Abella” & “We Came Last”, thanks two both being visually appealing and very welcoming of their sound and style. Nonetheless, yesterday the duo set their standards even higher with the release of the short-film for their local posse-cut “Can I”, which features Chandler London, J Arthur, DotKom & ShowYouSuck. Inspired by Spike Lee’s classic Do The Right Thing, this is by far the most entertaining video Quotes and Def Poet have put out and also one of the best video’s in 2013. Auggie The 9th’s cameo as the protagonist only adds to the epicness. Directed by Adebowale Adesuyi.
