Talib Kweli’s new LP was on our most anticipated of 2012 list.  That was when it was originally going to be released on 10.23.  Obviously, that didn’t happen.  The album was pushed back to November 20th, but that’s not going down either.  Kweli explained the delays to the Breakfast Club, saying that the LP has been held up because of needed changes to his Blacksmith label.  For those out of the loop, Kweli and his manager, Corey Smith, ran Blacksmith together. The label had a deal with Warner, then Fontana, and ultimately Capitol. Their roster included Strong Arm Steady and Jean Grae.  While Smith is still Kweli’s manager, the two have decided to dismantle the label, with Kweli starting a new label on his own.  The changes have delayed Prisoner of Conscious, which is not slated for February.
