I read somewhere that this genre of music has been dubbed “chill-wave”. While I think that’s a horrible name, it is an accurate description. The last few months have seen a bunch of artists come through building on that down tempo-electronic haze (see Neon Indian). It’s a fantastic sound that almost stops you in your tracks because the music literally makes you want to do nothing. You can’t dance, you can’t sing along, you just sit back and let it happen, you’ll enjoy it more, trust me.
