“I got too many friends, and I can’t keep up with the trends.”
Atmosphere is not putting any breaks on as they get set for the 10/5 release of their new LP, Mi Vida Local. Today they released a video for the new song, “Jerome”, which sounds like a rawkus-pots-and-pans joint with a basement level video to match. The visuals were directed by Evidence and shot by his ace-in-the-hole Stephan Vanasco.
The video may have very well taken place at a SoFarSounds recording, or the type of DIY party that Atmosphere and so many others have cut their teeth. The song carries a tone of cynical braggadocios with the mic dropping chorus of “It’s on my list of shit to do, after I pick which whisper to listen to, and you can kiss my ass until your lips are blue, oooh, and we can fight about it after school, but all y’all full shit, and I’m cool.”
Coolness and how that’s changed is something Slug talked about during our interview with him at Riot Fest. It’s a good read if you got 15 minutes, and if you’re still reading this, peep the new video below.
