“They came through clueless, we came through with the newness.”
Qwazaar is one of my favorite emcees. He is part of the classic Chicago Hip Hop crew, Typical Cats, who’s debut album was drenched in an indie aesthetic crafted partly at WHPK. His solo album, “Walk Through Walls” was a dark and raw LP, that housed Qwazaar’s unique equation of anger, intelligence, and urgency. Since then, he’s been a part of Dirty Digital, who created a nice buzz before drifting off. Qwazaar is back with a new LP, constructed completely with Florida-based producer, Batsauce. The pair released an album on Tuesday entitled Bat Meets Blaine. One of the LP’s stand out tracks is “I Know”. The production is sunny, and fluid, as Qwazaar paints the picture of a knowing and understanding elder in the song’s chorus as he repeats, “I know, I know, I know”. Knowing Qwaazar, I know this song comes from the heart, and is true to life. And it’s dope. Download it below, and pick up Bats Meet Blaine via Galapaogs4.
