Thor: The Dark World topped this weekend’s box office with an astounding $86m in its opening weekend. Last weekend’s top film, Ender’s Game, dropped drastically to 5th with $10m, while Bad Grandpa climbed back up to the second spot with $11.3m. 12 Years a Slave is still chugging along at 7th place, albeit making an extra $2m compared to last weekend. Thor: The Dark World is expected to top next weekend’s box office as well with the Oscar-buzzing Nebraska and the not-so-Oscar-buzzing The Best Man Holiday opening this weekend. The Norse god/superhero film will face its first real threat next weekend when The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens.
