Love it or hate it, Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise is a perennial moneymaker, as illustrated this past weekend when the latest entry, Transformers: Age of Extinction, made $100m in its opening weekend. The large financial showing comes in spite of the film’s poor reviews, with its Rotten Tomatoes average score at a mere 17%. However, the film and its subsequent sequels will continue to make millions of dollars in spite of any negative reviews, so Transformers fans can expect to see more of the same for years to come!
