[Weekly Netflix Fix] How I Met Your Mother: Season 9, The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete

After nine long years, How I Met Your Mother reached its finale earlier this year. While the notorious ending was met with almost widespread dislike (I was neutral to it), you can’t help but want to re-watch the amazing show’s final season and see how Ted and the Mother first met. After all, Cristin Milioti is just so beautiful… Another fine addition to the new batch of Netflix Instant titles is The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, directed by Soul Food and Men of Honor director (and Chicagoan!) George Tillman, Jr. The film is about a 14-year-old kid, Mister, in New York taking care of his 9-year-old friend, Pete, during a New York summer after Mister’s Mom (Jennifer Hudson) is arrested by the cops for possession. It’s heartbreaking, engaging, and one of the best films I’ve seen on Netflix this year.
