McKenzie Eddy

“In the battle for an actual sandwich, souls are collateral damage, gold is a tactical advantage, cabbage, cabbage, cabbage, cabbage…”

A few weeks ago, McKenzie Eddy released her latest project, Young Platinum.  The free album was co-credited to GLC, and also features Murs, Da$H, Kat CHR, and Kool AD of Das Racist.  It’s a very solid album, and contains one of my favorite new songs, “Blood Runs Cold”, an emotionless and frank assessment of current event.  The song is outstanding, like old English “outstanding” outstanding.  Kool AD supplies a high moment with his second verse:

“Feed me carrots til I feel I’m a rabbit, blood diamonds are a bad habits for those flush with cash above average, 28% of the world, 2% of the world owns half its assets, my math is tragic, I must’ve cost about 2,000 school lunches, that’s 2,000 chicken sandwiches and fruit punches.”
