[Video] ABGOHARD: "Yung God"

New York City has been re-establishing itself as a place for quality underground hip-hop over the past few years with a huge resurgence of talented artists that have allowed themselves to branch into increasingly different and interesting strands of what hip-hop can be, somewhat erasing many boundaries that had rendered the genre incognito and stale out east.

One of these pockets of music that we've been paying attention to as of late is the Inner City Kids crew, led by Decon-signee and RH First Look artist Aaron Cohen. Cohen's collaborative partner on his track "NickVanExelRose", ABGOHARD, recently dropped his video for his own single, "Yung God" which is produced by Yuri Beats and was premiered today on The Village Voice. The ICK guys often have their tongue planted firmly in cheek as they pair clever rhymes with heavy production and the latest from the clique is no different as underlying humor exists throughout. [Video] ShowYouSuck: "80s Boobs"

Chicago's own ShowYouSuck meant business in 2013, and followed that up by releasing a gang of projects, the last of which, Dude Bro may be his most polished to date. The Closed Sessions' release dropped its latest video in support of the project, this one for the highly-anticipated "80s Boobs". The J. Arthur-produced track appropriately calls to mind the decade with the high synth use and the black and white visual is a simple affair, with translation subtitles rolling across the bottom while bras seem to be stocked in front of Show. The neon camera flares add a subtle 80s aesthetic to the video, shot by Addison Wright and J. Frank. In the end, the only nipples in the video are Show's, and he burns a bra. See it all for yourself, streaming below.

Yesterday, Cohen released his latest video for "Why You Mad For" featuring Philadelphia artist Grande Marshall and produced by EFF.DOPE and Su Bviley via IllRoots. The video, directed by Jason Ano and Mass Appeal, follows Cohen around the city with the haunting beat setting the tone for the day-in-the-life piece. [RH First Look] Aaron Cohen

aaron_cohen_header

New York City has long been a dreamer’s city, a place where many a success was made and many a pipe dream shuttered. When it comes to hip-hop, it’s essentially Mecca. It’s where the music first took root, where B-boys and MC-ing first became popular. Because of that, NYC has long been seen as the place to make it, if looking to do so, as Jay-Z has reminded us for years. Seattle native Aaron Cohen made his way to the Big Apple looking for new opportunities aabout six years ago, diving into the bubbling scene that has many calling the current period the latest in a long line of hip-hop renaissances that have taken place in the birthplace of rap music. With an unapologetic rhyming style and an intimidating beard to match, Aaron Cohen hustled his way to the forefront of the underground scene in his adopted hometown. November 11, the Decon signee dropped his latest project, Potential Fans, a thrashing, complete project that stands to prove why Cohen deserves his own lane in the greater landscape of hip-hop today. I had a chance to catch up with the owner of the best facial hair this side of Action Bronson last week as he was getting off work and on the heels of the release of his latest project. It’s easy to feel the passion and drive in every word Cohen spits and speaks, check out my talk with one of the latest artists to emerge from the bubbling cauldron that is New York City today.

[RH First Glance] Young Lungs: "Make It Happen"

This track comes to us from Canada, the land of Drake, denim and maple syrup. Young Lungs is a 15 year old that has spent seemingly every moment of the less than two decades he's spent on this earth gobbling up every classic hip-hop track ever made. Seriously, the kid can spit some bars and I'm always blown away by the musical and hip-hop knowledge that this young generation of artists has been able to cultivate via tools like the Internet. Check out Young Lungs track "Make It Happen," premiered on Mishka's blog, here below and cop the full album here.

????? Fall 2013 Women's Lookbook

The cool think about when brands are gearing up to release new collections is that there is always a lookbook that gets dropped along with it. The lookbook is where brands get that one shot to stand out and separate themselves from the competition. Sure you get your lack luster efforts and then you gets ones whose themes are recycled again and again but there are brands that keep fresh with different ideas. I like lookbooks because not only do you get to see the brands newest creations but you get some great photography along with it. So with that in mind I thought I'd share ?????'s Fall 2013 women's lookbook filled with some awesome clothes and photos. The back drop is a dressing room with a variety of ladies styled in the current men's collection for women. You get an array of prints, jackets and so much more from the collection so check out the photos and for more head on over to ????? here.
