With a very weak lineup of new releases for the July 4th weekend, Transformers: Age of Extinction easily topped the box office with a solid $36.4m showing. One of the weekend’s new offerings, the Melissa McCarthy-driven Tammy, made $21m for second place. Deliver Us From Hell, the supernatural horror film starring Eric Bana and Olivia Munn rounded out the Top3 with a measly $9.5 intake. The weekend’s other major release, Earth to Echo, came in 6th with $8.25m.
