LRG Goes Behind The Scenes of New Mayer Hawthorne Video

Hawthorne

Our homies at LRG were on hand for the shooting of Mayer Hawthorne's new video, "Your Easy Lovin' Ain't Pleasin' Nothin'".  This is some very sick footage.  Check it out below, and if you haven't seen the Raekwon Live At Pitchfork video we did with LRG, catch that here.  While you're at it, check out the First LRG x Closed Sessions joint "Turn It Up" here, and look for number 2 starring Freddie Gibbs to drop in August.

Neon Indian: "6669 (I Don’t Know If You Know)"

http://rubyhornet.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/psychic_chasms

Indie artist Neon Indian has been hot on the scene after he dropped his critically acclaimed album Psychic Chasms last fall, and is just off a solid performance at the Pitchfork Music Festival last weekend. Alan Palomo (Neon Indian) grabs Brazilian filmaker  João Machado for this trippy video, certainly sufficient for 6669.  Check it out here.

The Black Keys: "Too Afraid To Love You" Studio Video

The Black Keys

Excuse the late pass on this, but this is too dope to not post.  The new Black Keys album is still on heavy rotation, and I just came across this studio footage of the duo recording "Too Afraid To Love You".  This was shot at Shoals, a legendary studio in Alabama where the Keys recorded most of their latest LP, Brothers.  Check out the video below.  The Black Keys will again be at this year's Lollapalooza, with a Friday night set kicking off around 7 PM.

Menomena: "Taos"

Menomena

Menomena is the heir to Morphine's considerable legacy.  Maybe its the prevalence of woodwinds with both bands, but the two seem at times to be cut from the same cloth.  Menomena skews more in the 21st century electronic aesthetic than Morphine's early 90's mournful indie rock.  Either way Menomena has created another great album with the upcoming release of Mines.  Taos is a great example of what you get throughout the album, a five minute romp moving flipping tempos on a dime and inserting a multitude of interesting musical elements.  ??You can pick up Mines via Barsuk Records. Check out the track below.

Chromeo: Business Casual Cover plus Lollapalooza

Chormeo

Chromeo's new album, Business Casual, will be released in September 14th and all the pre-LP talk I've heard has been glowing in regards to the new project.  Chromeo's live show has also been getting rave reviews, and they killed it at Bonnaroo with Daryl Hall.  I saw these guys when they played Lolla a few years ago and whether you've seen them or not, they're Friday set at 7PM should definitely be on your scheduled.  Check out more tour dates below.

Chip Tha Ripper x Jugrnaut Tee

Chip Tha Ripper

Chip Tha Ripper has linked up with Chicago's Jugrnaut for a limited edition tee.  The tee features Chip hugged up with some of the finest women the cartoon world has to offer including both Wilma and Betty, Marge Simpson, Peter Griffen's wife, and two other women from Family Guy spin off who's names I don't know nor care to look up.  I was hoping for some Lady Jane or Scarlett from G.I. Joe action, but I guess cartoon MILFS are where it's at these days.  Although I'd rather hook up with the one-eyed girl from Futurama than Marge Simpson, that's just me though... Chip's free to make his own decisions.

The tees are available at Jugrnaut July 29th where Chip will be hanging out as well.  More info at Jugrnaut.
