Everybody is on their phone. Thousands of people everyday wear out their thumbs scrolling through photos, deciding which ones to post on Instagram. It’s so easy to do whether you’re a photographer or not; just point, shoot, choose a filter and post whatever you created. From funny duck face selfies, to breathtaking landscapes, to gritty city streets. Some use it as visual journal giving glimpses of their lives, while others have taken it to another level by creating works of art. All of us at Ruby Hornet are fans of the social media platform and decided to do a weekly series highlighting people whose Instagrams stand above the rest. Let us know in the comments section if you’d like to be featured, or let us know about some other cool Instagrams. Be sure to follow Ruby Hornet on Instagram, too.
This week’s featured Instagram comes from @angie178. If there’s one thing I do like, it’s landscape photography from places I've never been too. I’m drawn to this Instagram gallery because of its photo composition and the amazing landscapes shots from of our neighbors up north, Canada. Angie takes some great shots of what's around her and does some crazy stuff to her visuals when it comes to editing. Be sure to check out some of her photos here, and head on over to her Instagram for more of her work.

Sony Xperia C3 Smartphone Is Built For Selfie Lovers
I guess it was only a matter of time before a company would make a smartphone aimed directly at those that love taking selfies. It seems like nowadays, taking selfies has just become the norm and has become part of the culture we live in. If you enjoy taking selfies, the Sony Xperia C3 might be a match made in heaven. What Sony has created is a smartphone that sports a wide angle 5 megapixel front-facing camera with a built-in soft LED flash, making it very easy to capture those special moments.
Not only does the Sony Xperia C3 have front-facing flash, there are some other software features that should help make the selfie-taking process a little easier, like a Smile Shutter, AR effects, and a feature that lets you tap the back of the phone to take a picture. Now, this smartphone probably won't change the digital photography game, and it won't be for everybody, but if you really like taking selfies you might want to give this a try.

Aperture Replacement APP OS X Photos Will Offer Many Features
Last week, Apple made an announcement that they would no longer be developing the popular photo management software Aperture and have instead decided to discontinue it. The reason being was that the company wanted to focus its time and energy developing the new Photos App. Since the Photos App is still in the works, there has not been a lot of information released to the public but it is known that the app will offer "professional grade features such as image search, editing, effects, and most notably, third party extensibility."
With some of these features, it will be interesting to see what the final product will look like and if it will become a full fledged replacement for Aperture or possibly something more. What will prove to be interesting is the third party extensibility feature and what it means for the users as far as editing capabilities go, but I guess will have to wait and see what unfolds for Apple's new Photos app.

Adobe Announces Photoshop and Lightroom Bundle for iPhone
Adobe has recently announced some new stuff that should interest all of those that subscribe to their Creative Cloud service. Not too long ago, Adobe announced that they would be releasing a mobile version of Lightroom to all of its Creative Cloud subscribers, but it was initially only available for the iPad. That has recently changed as users will now be able to use the mobile version of Adobe Lightroom on their iPhone as well.
There is also an upgrade to the Photography Creative Cloud plan which is still being offered for $9.99 a month, but includes more bang for your buck. Included in the bundle is Photoshop CC, Lightroom, Lightroom Mobile, and the newly released app, Photoshop Mix. This free app was designed to organize all your photos into one central spot, as well as having photo editing capabilities. Everything is available now at Adobe for download, and it should be quite valuable to all the photographers out there.
