[Video] Marissa Nadler: "Was It A Dream"
Marissa Nadler released a new video for "Was It A Dream," a song off of her new record July that was released late last year. The Boston singer-songwriter warbles and whispers in this simply dreamy track, fading in and out with a ghost-like quality. Directed by Robert Walsh, the video is haunting and eerie, matching the track perfectly with vintage-y sepia tone shots of Nadler.
In an interview, Nadler explains her thoughts for the video: "I definitely wanted something beautiful and dreamlike. I dressed in a white-and-black dress that was very simple. We had this older gentleman named Archie who had never been an actor before. I met him at a party and thought he'd be perfect [for the video], so I asked him. He's going through this old footage and he becomes kind of attached to [it]. He's watching her, and he passes her on the street. The lines between reality and dreams are blurred."

[Video] Angel Olsen: "Hi-Five"
Angel Olsen is doing everything but sitting on her hands waiting for her upcoming album, Burn Your Fire For No Witness, to drop on February 18. She recently performed four unreleased tracks for NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concert Series, and has now released a brand new music video for the country-folk flavored single "Hi-Five." There really couldn't have been a more appropriately creepy yet stunning concept for this video. Olsen and director Zia Anger transport you to a television broadcasting studio straight out of the '60s. Olsen looks striking, yet apathetic while she dances around in a gold shimmering sweater with red tights, two-stepping and making grand sweeping hand gestures.
Check out the video and put this track on repeat while you anxiously await Burn Your Fire For No Witness.

[Video] Hungry Mountain: "High Fashion"
Fresh out of the Northern Suburbs of Chicago, funky garage pop 6-piece Hungry Mountain has just released a music video for their latest single "High Fashion" off of their self-titled album released last year. The video was directed and shot by Jess Price and captures the DIY house party vibe that Hungry Mountain does so well. "High Fashion" has the gritty, grungy sound that makes you want to do a shot (or five) and get down. Frontman Steve Mitchell sings, "Get yourself on, get your dirty self on," making it easy to feel sexy as hell and do just that. The video features members of fellow Chicago acts Suns and Ghastly Menace. Hungry Mountain will be back in the studio this spring cutting their next full length album.

[Video] Angel Olsen: Tiny Desk Concert
Angel Olsen has graciously shared two stellar tracks, Hi-Five and Forgiven/Forgotten, from her highly anticipated album Burn Your Fire For No Witness, out on February 18th via Jagjaguwar. Thankfully, we get another opportunity to hear some of the album before its release. NPR Music presents Olsen playing 4 previously unreleased tracks for their Tiny Desk Concert series.
With no backing band to support her, Olsen strums her guitar longingly, capturing the sorrowful and simple loveliness of her songs. Check out the performance and her upcoming tour dates!

[Video] of Montreal: "She Ain't Speakin' Now"
of Montreal released their 12th album, Lousy With Sylvianbriar in October of last year and have just released a music video for their second single off of the album, "She Ain't Speakin' Now." Directed by Nina Barnes (wife of frontman Kevin Barnes), the video flashes blurred images of Kevin Barnes and Rebecca Cash saturated in neon colors. The video duplicates the trippy entrancement of their live show but doesn't out-shine the electricity of the track.
Don't miss your chance to see of Montreal live on their upcoming tour and check out the video for "She Ain't Speakin' Now." And if you haven't heard the album, check out Lousy With Sylvianbriar out via Polyvinyl.

[Video] Sleeper Agent: "Waves"
Along with the announcement of their highly anticipated second album About Last Night, Sleeper Agent released a lyric video for their first single off the record, "Waves." The single radiates a feel-good vibe, hooking you with it's catchy melody and chorus provided by lead singer Alex Kandel. In the video, lyrics are scrawled across arms, legs, feet, hands, and pretty much wherever else you could fit a word or two.
The album came to life while Sleeper Agent was on tour, pieced together by guitarist and principle songwriter Tony Smith. The tracks were completed while the band took refuge in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere East Kentucky, and then recorded in Nashville and Charleston with producers Jay Joyce and Eric Bass. "It's a record that I can hear our band's history in... every heartbreak, every victory, every night in the van, every audience we've been in front of are woven into the melodies and fabric of the songs" says singer Alex Kandel. About Last Night will be released on March 25th via RCA Records/Mom & Pop and is available for pre-order here.

Angel Olsen: "Hi-Five"
Angel Olsen lures you in with her devastatingly lovely voice on "Hi-Five," the second single from her upcoming album Burn Your Fire for No Witness, due out February 18th via Jagjaguwar. Burn Your Fire has already received rave reviews, praising Olsen's talent for song-writing and already naming the album to be a favorite for 2014.
"Hi-Five" takes on a twangy country vibe with Olsen's warbling vocals, straight-froward strumming guitar, and simple beats. Olsen doesn't stray from her usual themes of longing and sadness but takes a sarcastic spin on this track singing, "Are you lonely too? High five, so am I." Listen to the track and check out her upcoming tour dates!
