[Photos] A$AP Rocky & Pharrell in the Studio
Yesterday while most of the music world's attention was focused on the Grammy awards, Jahrue of IMF Mag was in the studio with Pharrell and A$AP Rocky. The duo were working a few things, while nothing substantial has been confirmed, Jahrue did say that "Rocky was blessed with few joints and a verse." All I have to say is bump the Grammys, I wish I was here, and that these tracks will be fire where ever they pop up. Check out the complete set of photos on our tumblr.
[Mixtape] Chase N. Cashe: The Heir Up There
Surf Club representer Chase N. Cashe dropped his long awaited The Heir Up There mixtape today. The tape has been in the works for some time now and is a virtual one man show. With no features, the only other people who worked on the album with Chase are on the production credits. His own name appears of more than a few of them, along with fellow Surf Club member Hit-Boy, Tha Bizness, Araad Muzik and others. Cherry&Co did the artwork for the entire album, including individual ones for each track. Download this extremly dope project below. That's some swagged out packaging.

Domo Genesis: "Ground Up" featuring Wiz Khalifa
The two weed smoking power-houses link up for Domo Genesis's latest track "Ground Up". Cardo produced and hella chill, the track features a somewhat corny Wiz chorus, but the rapper I like to describe as iffy shows up with an pretty dope verse to compliment Domo's. Cardo dropped this one last night via his twitter, don't miss out.

Ro Ransom: "Temperature"
Ro Ransom will be dropping his Ransomnia soon and has been dropping more and more music as of late. This latest one is a freestyle over Missy Elliot's "Hot Boyz" and is super clean. If there's one thing to take from the track, it's that the artist formerly known as Nero has something to prove and Ransomnia will be tight.
[Video] ScHoolboy Q Speaks on Relationship with A$AP Rocky
A$AP Rocky and ScHoolboy Q collaborated on two of my favorite tracks in recent memory. "Brand New Guy" off of ASAP's LiveLoveA$AP and "Hands on the Wheel" from ScHoolboy Q's Habits & Contradictions both a great examples of the artist's chemistry when together. Recently Schoolboy Q caught up with MTV's Mixtape Daily and the question was asked if there was a collaboration project in the mix.... The answer? Nothing definite, but Q said that there were talks of it and if the time is ever right, it will go down. Now I don't know about everyone else, but I'm crossing my finger and toes that a project of this sort comes to fruition. Watch the interview below and

[Video] Sound FX: "A Son's Prayer"
Los Angeles duo Sound FX released "A Son's Prayer" late last year. The track is a single off of their EP Things Fall Apart: A Prelude to the Sunset LP and recently got the video treatment from director Chris Gudino. Look for the EP soon as well as a more in-depth look at the group.

[Video] The Roots: "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around"
This latest video from The Roots has no connection to either their gig on Late Night or Undun, rather it is their rendition of "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around". The track is off of the upcoming compilation Soundtrack to a Revolution. The album featuring various contemporary artists covering songs from the mid 20th century. Featuring a splicing of old black and white footage and The Roots recording the track, this is a great diversion from the usual path.
Sir Michael Rocks: "Imagine" & "Out The Jam"
"Me and my n***a changed the world when we first dropped" - Chuck Inglish
These two tracks may belong to Sir Michael Rock's, but the above quote was too ill for me not to begin the post with it. As two pioneers of this new emerging genre of Hip Hop, which has taken hold lately, Mike and Chuck certainly helped "change the world." Whatever you might want to call it; swag, stoner, indie Hip Hop or whatever other name you might have for it, we can all agree it's dope.
There's no word on what these two tracks are from, but "Out The Jam" see's Michael Rocks link with the other half of The Cool Kids, Chuck Inglish, and is produced by Monsta Beatz. "Imagine" is produced by Cardo. Both tracks are pretty classic SMR material and reflect how well the duo are living today. Look for more from Tooth Pick Clique, Sir Michael Rocks, Chuck Inglish, and hopefully The Cool Kids in 2012. Spotted at ILLROOTS.
