And The Winners Are...
The BET Hip Hop Awards were filmed over the weekend in Atlanta, GA. While the show is not set to air until the 27th of this month, some of the winners and happenings at the Awards show have made the news. Perhaps the biggest story was T.I.'s jailhouse victory for album of the year as well as collaboration of the year (Paper Trail and "Live Your Life" respectively). T.I.'s letter from prison was read by his girlfriend Tameka, while Busta Rhymes accepted the DJ of The Year Award for DJ AM, R.I.P. Other winners include Jay-Z, who picked up the MVP award, while Drake snagged Rookie of The Year. Ice Cube was honored at the award show for his career achievements, he was given the I Am Hip Hop Icon Award. Kanye West, who garnered 9 nominations, chose to "sit this one out".
Edo G x Masta Ace: "Little Young" Video
Wow...somebody give these dudes a prize. Edo G. and Masta Ace turn in one of the best concept songs and videos I've heard in a minute. The duo speak on maturity and Hip Hop by using the oh so popular moniker's of "Lil'" and "Young", two words placed in front of the names of so many rappers and groups. Edo tackles "Little", while Masta Ace takes "Young" and the results are awesome. Check out the video below. The guys have a new LP, Arts & Entertainment, coming out November 3rd.

PUTS: "Trippin At The Disco" Video
Earlier in the week we posted People Under The Stairs' new joint, "Hit The Top". Today we have their newly released video for "Trippin' At The Disco". The fun and light video takes place in 1980 where People Under The Stairs are the featured guest on Japan's "Chikara Kurahashi Hit Station". Their performance was extra special, being that it was the first Hip Hop performance in Asia...quite a concept. Check the video out after the jump.

Joss Stone: "Governmentalist" featuring Nas
"I heard that Joss Stone got the remedy."
Joss Stone will release Colour Me Free on October 20th. The singer appeared on some late night show this week, I caught her segment, but for the life of me can't remember who she was talking to. I want to say Conan, but I really don't remember. Anyway, she talked about this song with Nas, and a few days later it is freed up on the internet...props got to Mr X. for that one. I copped this though from eskay's. You can grab it here.
That's Why Those Dudes In Primeridian Do The Count Voice

The Primeridian performed in Atlanta last week at the A3C, specifically the Midwest night of Perfect Attendance, which we co-sponsored. They stuck around and did an interview with WRFG 89.3, a local radio station. The questions are fairly generic, and the radio host has no idea what to do with "the Counts". Simeon explains what a count is, which is quite useful info, as I really did not know the reasoning behind the reckoning. Interesting story. See it below.

Wale: "Fly Away"
"Left my home alone, you can call me McCauley..."
Why even have a record label? Wale distributed another new track via Twitter this morning. Despite his own troubles in the AM, he gives us "Fly Away", which brings back the Lenny Kravitz joint of the same name. It's a self-declared "pity-party" and definitely a good listen on this rainy day in Chicago. Listen/download it below.
