Say It Ain't So: Weezer Tap Lil' Wayne, Jermaine Dupri On Ratitude
Let me start by saying that I'm not the biggest Weezer fan. "Buddy Holly" was awesome, "The Sweater Song" was very dope. I was also a big fan of "My Name Is Jonas". However, my Weezer enthusiasm was permanently curbed when I worked at Steve & Barry's in Bloomington, Indiana and their album played non-stop in the store during my shifts...There's only so much Weezer one man can take. However, they've remained a solid band, and a band with a brand and image that's been protected and built over the years. On their last album they joked about labels trying to make them into something they're not, or influence their sound. Their new album, Raditude, has been pushed up to a November 3rd release, and the crew just wrapped up shooting a video for the confusingly titled "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To". That's all well and good, I guess, I don't really know, but what I do know, or at least think I know is that Weezer is f**king s**t up with their choice of guest appearances, you know?

DJ AM's Death Rule Accidental Overdose
The New York Medical Examiner has declared that DJ AM died as a result of a drug overdose. Rolling Stone reports that the drugs cocaine, oxycodone, Vicodin, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl and Levamisole were found in AM's system, and lead to his death. The DJ was found in his apartment on August 28th, after he missed a scheduled flight to Las Vegas. DJ AM struggled with drug addiction, bottomed out, and turned his life around. He maintained sobriety for more than 10 years, and recently flimed a reality with MTV in which he explored drug addiction, and helped others kick their habits. It's believed that the combination of the show, as well as the effects of his plane crash caused AM to return to drugs. That is just speculation, as no one will ever truly know what went down before DJ AM's untimely passing. He is remembered by a world community of music fans and peers, including Chicago DJs who spoke with us about AM's life (click here).
