Jay-Z, Drake, and More @ Summer Jam '09 Footage

Summer Jam

Summer Jam went down last night in NYC (or somewhere close to, I don't really care about exact location).  Performers included Jay-Z, Drake, T-Pain, Day 26, Jadakiss, Jeezy, and many more...I stayed abreast of performers via Twitter last night til I got bored with that too and went to sleep. Cipha Sounds was live and direct at Summer Jam and uploaded a ton of footage, which just hit my inbox.  Videos from Jay, Drake, Jada, below with a link to more as well.

RH First Look: ChiBoys Tee's

When the fellas from Pac Division hit came into Chicago last summer, we scooped them from their hotel and gave them a driving tour of the city.  One of our first questions was, "what do you think of when you think of Chicago?"  Their first response was, "Michael Jordan."  Their second response was "Barack Obama."  And their third response was "pizza."  All are understandable, as DeShawn Murray of ChiBoys Clothing says, "we all know that Jordan is the most influential sports figure of our time, and Obama is unmistakeably the most inspiring man of all time," and well, pizza is a just that good...In addition, much of the clothing celebrating the city, as far as streetwear goes, centers on MJ, or Mr. Obama, leaving a lot of the city untapped in terms of tee-shirts.  That exclusion of Chicago's rich history and landmarks is what gave inspiration to Murray to throw his hat into the tee-shirt ring with ChiBoys, a "Chicago themed t-shirt line that tells the story of Chicago's history, culture, hardships, architecture and personality."

The line launched just a few short weeks ago, and we caught up with Murray to talk about the clothes, the brand, and the city in this week's RH First Look.  Check it out below.

Kid Cudi Speaks on Almighty GloryUs

Kid Cudi and Chip Tha Ripper

Kid Cudi takes some time out from whatever he's doing to make a brief announcement concerning the Almighty GloryUs, his group with our homie, Chip Tha Ripper.  This may come as something new to some of you, but faithful RH readers know that we've on top of the Chip x Cudi movement for a minute (check this post out)...I got to hear very very brief snippets of some of their joints back in March when Chip came in for one of our Creme De La Creme parties, and you'll be able to officially hear their first joint on Cudi's August 25th release.  Check out the video below.

Jay-Z: "Death of Autotune" Mastered

Death of Autotune

Here's the CDQ mastered version of "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" courtesy of RR...The original leaked last week with a great op-ed by Funk Master Flex concerning the validity and value of other DJs vs. his own validity and value.  A sub-topic also included NYC vs. other cities, his radio station vs. others, and I believe his main thesis could be described as a tongue out 'you suck, I don't'...A few cracks in his thesis arise when it turns out that his mention in the song is somewhat collector's edition-ish, meaning that Jay recorded that joint with different DJ's in mentioned in that same line, no word yet if there is an RTC version...I'm guessing not right now...Grab the real joint below, which has been accessed 62,000 plus times since last night (whoa!).

Jay-Z: "D.O.A." Death of Autotune (Radio Rip)

Jay-Z

Being at the office late has some benefits I guess.  I streamed Hot 97 while finishing up last minute stuff, had my recorder here, and hey, figured I'll try the radio rip thing.  Check out Jay-Z's new No I.D. produced jam, "D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)" below.  As a bonus you can hear Funk Master Flex's dedication to other DJ's, as well as analysis with Mister Cee.  It is pretty interesting, and I do have a lot of thoughts on the song, and 'the death of autotune' all that, but it's late...and well...yeah...Listen/download below....
