Asher Roth Issues Statement on Twitter/Associated Press Comments
So, I have not posted anything about Asher Roth's Twitter comments last week about "chilling with some Nappy Headed Hoes." I saw them last week when they went up, and thought that the kid was referring to his performance at Rutgers in a way that would not sit well with many, and was a, 'wait...that didn't come out right' kind of moment. I also followed eskay's coverage of the whole thing, which I thought was pretty dope. Well, today, Asher Roth released a statement regarding his comment on Twitter, as well as this interview he did in which he talked about rappers not giving back to their communities. RH Spotlight: Jerry Azumah
Former University of New Hampshire and Chicago Bears standout, Jerry Azumah, will host a Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament on May 13th, which will serve as a fundraiser for his non-profit organization, ASAP. ASAP, which stands for the Azumah Student Assistance Program, provides scholarships and guidance to disadvantaged youth. The motivation behind the organization comes directly from Azumah's past experiences and the help and guidance he received himself. The event will take place at the Hotel Sax and will feature a slew of athletes and celebrities. RubyHornet will be there as well, as we've signed on to be the official online sponsor of the event. Mike Giant X Dalek's Paris Exhibition
Scour the RH pages and you will find multiple pieces on the mulitple pieces by artist Mike Giant. Giant, along with Dalek took their art to Paris where they are exhibiting paintings at the Galerie Magda Danysz. The exhibition will run through May 23rd, and you can see more pics below courtesy of Hypebeast.

What is Common not doing these days? He just dropped a new album, created a new cologne, drinks Amped Energy Drinks, and developed a clothing line with Microsoft, and now he's got a book coming out entitled "The Mirror And Me". In the video below he reads to kids in Dayton, OH.

DJ RTC X SC: Guns N' Doe Hosted By Just Blaze (Artwork)
The last song I leaked off of this mixtape landed on Mic Terror's mixtape. Lesson learned...Anyway, I present to you the artwork for the next DJ RTC mixtape. This time I was tapped by Chicago's own SC to put together a mix showcasing his production style and substance. The result is Guns N' Doe, which is also hosted by none other than Just Blaze. In fact, when SC moved out to New York he set up shop in Just Blaze's Bassline studio for a year, and bang out some of the best beats that Just had ever heard. While he may not be a household name (yet), SC has done tracks for Diddy, Mary J. Blige, The Game, Havoc, Mobb Deep, Mikkey Halsted, Naledge, and the list goes on....This mixtape is a collection of his work ranging from brand new, to unreleased, to industry classics. The full mixtape will be available here February 4th. I'll be leaking a track before then, but for now, check out the tracklist below and enjoy the cover done by St!zo.
