Block Exchange: "There's Only One Block Exchange" (Block Xchange Diss)
"This is my life, not a beef, or a battle, or a ploy/or a plot or a scheme to grab attention and make noise/it's the raw power and passion and love that's unrestrained/that true s**t from the heart that defines Block Exchange".
In the Windy City, Block Xchange means the Chicago based collective signed to Ludacris' DTP Records. In NYC, it's this collective, Block Exchange (notice the E) that rings the most bells. The NYC group recently made the following video regarding the shared moniker. And while DTP's Block Xchange did switch up their spelling, Block Exchange is not satisfied. Check out their video "There's Only One Block Exchange" below, and lets us know how they stack up the Chi-town posse.

Garbstore: Warm-up Jacket
London based brand, Garbstore, has got that perfect piece for those days when you're not trying to be too dressy and you're just chilling, but still trying to pull off a clean look. Garbstore presents to us their Heather Warm-up jacket as another part of their Spring collection. With minor features like the front zipper and side pockets the jackets pretty dope. They're available for just about $150, which is not too bad for a quality piece like this one. More pics right after the jump.

Mnek: "Devil In Pumps"
Yes, I thought this was Gary Coleman's new thing at first too...but it's not. Mnek is an artist from across the pond making electro pop tunes, and get this, the kid can't even drive yet. The 14 year old was recently featured in the Fader's weekly look at English artists and the kid had this to say about his work,
"Music is my vocation, I was born to do it. I won't bullshit and say, you know, I'm just doing it cos it's the "in thing," I genuinely love music. What I do is POP, bits of electro, bits of funk, bits of soul, but overall pop music."
Only 14...Check out "Devil In Pumps" and "Nose Job" below.

Asher Roth Issues Statement on Twitter/Associated Press Comments
![]()
So, I have not posted anything about Asher Roth's Twitter comments last week about "chilling with some Nappy Headed Hoes." I saw them last week when they went up, and thought that the kid was referring to his performance at Rutgers in a way that would not sit well with many, and was a, 'wait...that didn't come out right' kind of moment. I also followed eskay's coverage of the whole thing, which I thought was pretty dope. Well, today, Asher Roth released a statement regarding his comment on Twitter, as well as this interview he did in which he talked about rappers not giving back to their communities. His statement is below.
