CHI-Vanguard Photo Shoot: Jessica

Virgil Solis

So a few months back we held a Digital Freshness called CHI-Vanguards where we collaborated with some of Chicago's fashion brands & boutiques (Code Of Conduct, Kustom Karats, Black Market Caviar & Anna Hovet) and we threw a party. Alongside the party we did a photo shoot to display the clothes and was also a big reason why we were all late that night, lol... But that's a different story. We released the BTS video a few weeks ago and this week we will be releasing the shoot with a little twist. Instead of putting out the whole shoot we will put out one model at a time and give you a little info about her so you guys can get to the know the brands and models better.

Code Of Conduct is located in Chicago's South Loop neighborhood and if anyone knows that area, it has lots of dope alleys. The moment I saw the alley next to COC, I wanted to do a shoot there. After talking with Michaela & Ari about the shoot we all put together some ideas for what we wanted to do. Ari & Michaela already had the direction for the way they wanted the girls to look, a very simple but urban style to really display the pieces they were wearing. I've always been fascinated with the different colors you can get when shooting down these alleys because you have different lights from warm colors to cool colors, and it lets you have options with the feel of the pic. I also brought one stationary light with me with a day light bulb to add any extra light if needed, and also to use as a prop in the background of shots. Ari & Michaela had a great idea to have one of their tattoo artists, Jeff, paint on the model's creating pseudo tats.

Jessica was the first model I shot that day. At first I had a million ideas on how I wanted to shoot her. Once I stepped outside though, I noticed a bike rickshaw that had great character. The seat was red velvet and the bike itself was yellow with a velvet rose on the handle bars. We moved into the alley and started to shoot Jessica on it. We were able to get some great shots on it. There was a lot of construction being done on the building next door so we were able to use some of the scaffolding for a second location that gave great direction for the photos.

GLC and Freddie Gibbs Premiere New Closed Sessions Track in NYC

GLC Freddie Gibbs

So, you may remember back in March we posted this quick video of GLC and Freddie Gibbs at our Closed Sessions in Texas.  We've been hard at work getting everything in line to release the full album/documentary that will feature the full story of everything that went down, as well as 11 new songs all created over 4 marathon days of recording.  The songs feature cross country collaborations with artists such as The Kid Daytona, Fashawn, DJ Babu and Rakaa of Dilated Peoples, CurT@!n$, Buff1, Emilio Rojas, 6th Sense, Rhymefest, and yes, the very first session of GLC and Freddie Gibbs.  We were kind of holding onto things, but over the weekend GLC hit CMJ and performed "Heads of The Heads" the Closed Sessions joint he made in Texas with Freddie Gibbs.  As you listen to the video you'll hear Gibbs' intro "Closed Sessions Austin, everything's bigger in Texas".  This is great song, and I can't wait to actually share the real crisp and clean version.  No leaks!  Watch the video below.

Georgia May Jagger Covers Harper's Bazaar

Georgia May Jagger

The daughter of legendary rocker Mick Jagger, Georgia May Jagger, lands on the cover of "Harper's Bazaar",  photographed by Hedi Slimane. Known for his Black & White photography Hedi shot her wonderfully in this spread. Georgia is the new face of fashion as she has been popping up everywhere, and I can see why. The gap and bucked teeth definitely have a sexiness to them. Check out the rest of the spread after the jump, a BTS video of the shoot, and the full interview at Harper's Bazaar.

What Should Lebron Do? Video

Lebron James

The above is the question that Nike asks in their new commercial featuring Lebron James.  The clip is titled "Rise", and features Lebron asking the public what he should do, before deciding that he needs to trust himself.  The commercial obviously plays off the Lebron drama that took place this summer, as Lebron chose to go from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Miami Heat, and caused quite a stir by his decision to draw out the process and make his decision on live television.  Regardless of how you feel about Bron-Bron, you can't front on the quality of Nike's video.  This is crisp.  See it below.
