RH Photos: Digital Freshness with Freddie Gibbs

RubyHornet.com

Freddie Gibbs kicked off Digital Freshness at Beauty Bar with a pre-Pitchfork Festival party.  VIPJ and RTC were on the 1's and 2's, and a good time was had by all.  No joke, things got wild afterward (see here)...  Check out pics from Virgil Solis after the jump and look for the video later this week and a Closed Session w/Mr. Gibbs and LRG in August.  Shouts to all involved, especially FSD and TSS for rocking with us.  Look for the next Digital Freshness at Beauty Bar on Thursday, August 18th.

The Death Set Remix Daedelus' "Fair Weathered Friends"

The Death Set

The Death Set formed in Austrailia and then took the East Coast of the U.S. by storm, claiming one Baltimore paper's prize for best live band of 2007.  They've released originals as well as remixes combining their hardcore punk style with electronic grooves.  In '08 they remixed Daedelus' "Fair Weathered Friends" through Ninja Tune.  Today I stumbled upon the video to said song via Frank151, and s**t is hard body son... Check it out below.

Grinderman: "Heathen Child"

Grinderman

The Grinderman Cometh.  Grinderman is the uber-macho Nick Cave Side-project filled with much bravado and fewer women.  Nick Cave, 52, man of many albums and great songs, only learned to play guitar in 2006 and in the wake of the momentous occasion only fit for the history books, formed the quartet "Grinderman".  The first album was a creation brilliance and ego, fit for the mans' id, but never forgetting the storycraft that Mr. Cave is so known for.  Fortunate for us, there is a second album in this incarnation, Here Come the Wolfman and the trailers suggest no let-up in the brilliance.  The first single "Heathen Child" does nothing to dissuade me either.  Huzzah!, drink some whiskey and go tell the women that we're leaving.
