Promoters of Mos/DOOM Show Issue Statement

Official Statement

By now, everyone knows about last Saturday's DOOM/Mos Def show.  Today the promoters of the show issued a statement regarding DOOM's performance.  Just to be clear, DOOM and Mos Def's actions are their actions.  It would be erroneous to assume that the promoters signed on to hoodwink everyone, and they've done plenty of shows to prove otherwise.  I also wrote in my review that many of the very complaints being made are reflective of DOOM's whole M.O., so I'm not sure why people are going after the promoters... In reality, they took a risk in trying to bring a dope concert to Chicago.  I know I was excited when I learned of the concert, and for that, they should be commended for taking the chance.  No promoter gets up thinking, "man, I hope this show goes way over schedule, and people throw s**t at my DJs..."  Things went down how they did, and they're working to fix it.

This is a radio rip from Succio Smash's Squeeze Radio, but all that didn't fit in the title.  This is off Ski Beatz' 24 Hour Karate School mixtape, that was supposed to drop yesterday, but ah, it didn't.  I'm told it's coming out March 30th... Anyway, this joint is the bizness!

Johnson&Jonson: "Disco Dynamite"/Limited Tee

Johnson&Jonson

This is a pretty cool concept/story via Tres Records:

"In 2008, TRES released the self title album "Johnson&Jonson," by Blu and Mainframe.  Besides the grimy flow, and raw loops, one of the other most memorable aspects of the album was the Red Baby a.k.a Johnny.   The baby was conceived by artist, Shawn Barber, who also had other works which were featured on the 12" singles for J&J.  When doing shows, J&J would actually bring along Johnny with them on stage and flaunt him, almost as if it were the third member of the group.  This continued on until the Red Baby was stolen at one of their shows in San Francisco.  Soon after, flyers online could be seen asking "Have you seen the Red Baby? report "Johnny to 1-800-johnson." Johnny is still missing till this day...... In memory of Johnny, and the J&J album, we are doing a limited worldwide release of Red Baby T-Shirts, as well as Red Baby Crewneck Sweaters.  Shirts will be available in Black and White, and the sweaters will be available in Black and Gray.  These items are now available for preorder at Tres's official ebay store ( http://stores.ebay.com/tresrecords).   All preorders have to be made by purchasing it at Tres's ebay store by 2/24/2010.  We are going to make the exact quantity we get preorders for.  These items are not going to be available for sale after the deadline date of preorder.   Both T shirts and sweat shirts are scheduled to be shipped on 3/10/2010."

So, that hit my inbox this morning, and then I just found this new video/song on nahright... It looks like someone got their PR signals all aligned... Check out the new track below.
