Here's a blast from the past in the form of Dom Kennedy's previously unreleased record "For My Homies", which was recorded during the classic Closed Sessions ATX recordings at SXSW a few years back. Seeing the need to have more material from Dom this Summer, CS decided to unleash this gem as people impatiently wait for Get Home Safely.

On August 24th, Closed Sessions Live will be returning to Schubas. Headlining the show is Evidence (Dilated Peoples), with support from Giftz and theWHOevers and DJ Rude One and DJ RTC spinning. The show's shaping up to be a good one just in time for those going back to school. To commemorate the event, we've teamed up with Closed Sessions to give away a pair of tickets to the show. This weekend, our homies at Closed Sessions have teamed up with 1833 Presents for a 2-day event, collectively known as "Closed Sessions Live: A Tribute to Independence." Day 1 on this upcoming Saturday, "Closed Sessions Live - On Our Radar," features Saba, Joey Purp, Lili K, Chandler London, The Palmer Squares, and some unannounced special guests. Day 2 on Sunday features Phony Ppl, Vic Mensa, Alex Wiley, and The O'Mys. Both shows will be taking place at Schuba's at 3159 N. Action Bronson: "Blackbird" (Equalibrum Remix)
The homies over Closed Sessions and Potholes Music (from Potholes In My Blog) recently linked up to work on a project entitled Potholes In My Session, which will have producers from Potholes remixing a handful of CS previously released records. The first single from the project is Equalibrum's take on Action Bronson's "Blackbird", the sound carried throughout the track has the essence of boom-bap and also a summer-type vibe, in which you can jam out to the song while enjoying a BBQ in your backyard. The 'tape comes out tomorrow.
RH Premiere: Julian Malone: "Pair Of Dice" + CS Video
It has been a minute since we've heard from Julian Malone, but today, the 2008ighties member is back with a special treat for his fans. He's given us the green light to drop his new record, "Pair Of Dice," which was recorded at Soundscape Studios for Closed Sessions. The CS team also made sure to document the event and put together a quick video recap of what went down the day this track was recorded.
