Treated Crew x Stüssy x Saint Alfred: "Treated Tribe"
Treated Crew, a collective based in Chicago, has joined forces with both Stüssy and Saint Alfred to collaborate on a project involving a new selection of apparel and a mixtape. The collection and the mixtape are both referred to as Treated Tribe. The apparel is modeled by Pusha T (with photos by Jesse Lirola), and is heavy in print, text, and graphics.
The “Treated Tribe” clothing collection mainly consists of black and white colors with a paisley print that is reminiscent of the crew’s logo, Treated Crew’s artwork for their album TreaTed, and Stüssy’s own signature branding. The simple arrangement of black and white statement pieces appropriately captures a vital essence of each party involved in the collaboration, a fundamental vibe that can be described as straightforward and versatile.
The artwork done for the album Treated Tribe reflects some of the predominant patterns used in the collection of apparel. Contributors to the mixtape include Mic Terror, Mano, Hollywood Holt, Gzus Piece, Jon James, Saint Millie, He Say/Say She, Sulaiman, Max Wonders, A.K., Nick Junior, HighLife, Lee Majorz & PST Saint.
The clothing collection dropped at Saint Alfred’s on Saturday, May 31st. Although the local boutique has already sold out, the Treated Tribe collection hit Stüssy’s online shop on June 2nd and is still available there for purchase. [Video] Skrillex Unveils Chance The Rapper Collaboration
Chance The Rapper took over the hip-hop world last year on the strength of his Acid Raps, and since the new year turned last month, it appears Chano isn't satisfied with handling just the rap side of things. After teaming up with Justin Bieber for "Confident", the Chicago MC has been rumored to be working with Skrillex in the studio quite a bit as of late, with the gossip being spread on the Internet with regular updates. Last night, in New York City at The Brooklyn Bowl, Skrillex decided to unveil his collaboration with Chance amidst a string of BK shows that have many calling his time out East a 'Skrillex takeover'. The track isn't like the EDM superstar's past connections with rappers, most notably 2012's "Wild For The Night" which was essentially a Srillex song with A$AP Rocky rapping over it. Here, we have something with distinctly juke elements that feature Chance sing-song rapping his way through the track. With Pop and Hip-hop seemingly on lock, Chance very well may be getting his EDM playlist in check, with a recently-announced set at Ultra Miami on deck. Check out the latest from Chance and Skrillex in this less-than-stellar video below.

[Album] JAMLA: "JAMLA Is The Squad"
Years ago, while in college and attempting to make an initial name for myself in the writing game, I somehow found myself interviewing 9th Wonder from my tiny apartment bedroom in Iowa City, Iowa. Since then, 9th and his team, JAMLA, his record label/hip-hop team that has made a distinct effort to bring soul and knowledgeable lyricism back to hip-hop. Acting as a sort of sensei for the JAMLA family, 9th has been known to put new artists through what has been described as "hip-hop boot camp," helping rappers and signers work on writing while opening producers minds to new influences and ways of creating different sounds. Last night, 9th Wonder, Rapsody, Khrysis, Halo, Terrence Martin and the new addition of Add-2 come together on JAMLA Is The Squad, a compilation project of tracks from the label. Joining the squad on the release are the likes of Pete Rock, BJ The Chicago Kid, Blu and Talib Kweli who help craft a boom-bap-ish sound that pays attention to what 9th calls the "twenty year loop" in music. Check out the latest from the sample genius and his band of talented artists, streaming here below and check back to RH tomorrow for more from the JAMLA team!
