[Video] Nike Unveils the Nike+ FuelBand SE and the Nike+ FuelBand App
Nike has finally unveiled its second generation of Nike+ FuelBands in New York this week. The FuelBand SE is now coming out in three new neon colors and can even be connected to your phone via Bluetooth. It is water resistant and now able to monitor yoga movements as well as monitoring your sleeping habits.
Nike also introduced the Nike+ FuelBand app which will display activity levels throughout the day. This app is geared towards fitness, so with the improvements come more tracking of your fitness stats and sharing your progress with friends for bragging rights. As a heads up to all those that own Andriods, the app is currently only for iOS users. If you're looking to get more active and want to keep track of your progress, or if you just want something to tell time, the NIKE+ FuelBand might be for you. Check out the video below for more.

[Video] New gameplay video of Kingdom Hearts III
At the D23 Expo in Japan last night, a new gameplay video was released for the highly-anticipated Kingdom Hearts III. Originally announced earlier this year, the new prime sequel in the storied Kingdom Hearts franchise will be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with no release date set just yet. This new video comes hot on the heels of Square-Enix's announcement that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix will be released on the PlayStation 3 next year. The game will be an HD remake of the previously Japan-only Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix with HD cutscenes from the Nintendo DS' Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.
For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Kingdom Hearts melds together the world of Square-Enix's Final Fantasy series with iconic Disney characters and locations into an action-RPG game about identity and self-discovery. While Kingdom Hearts II originally released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2006, a multitude of spin-offs have been released in the interim on the PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix will be the perfect opportunity for gamers that skipped them (or couldn't finish them like myself) to play them all in one package to prepare for Kingdom Hearts III's release.

HTC Unveils The One Max Smartphone
Everyday, it seems like a new smartphone is being released from every company known to man with the latest and coolest features in hopes of us buying it. The newest smartphone that is coming out is brought to us by HTC, the One Max. Like the iPhone 5s, it features finger sensor technology to unlock the phone and " can be programmed for up to three fingers which immediately launch three separate apps without the need to unlock or go to the home screen." The One Max offers a big screen coming in at 5.9" including a full 1080p HD display sure to make your photos, videos, and movies pop. It'll come in either 16GB or 32GB, but it can expand to 64GB with extra memory. No word on its release date in the US, but it is set to launch in Europe and Asia this October.

Snapchat Snaps can be retrieved for law enforcement
Attention avid Snapchat users: Your 5-second naked selfies may not be as private as you think they are. Considering Snapchats are sent over Snapchat servers, this should already be common knowledge, but some might find technology confusing. Snapchat safety head Micah Schaffer has assured Snapchat users that their Snaps are private and are deleted from servers 30 days after they're delivered and opened, assuring a level of privacy for users' dirty little secrets.
However, Schaffer has also confirmed that unopened Snaps still on the Snapchat servers have been delivered to authorities when they're presented with search warrants in accordance with the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA). Some might balk at the news, citing an invasion of privacy over the ordeal. Others, like myself, will laugh at those balking. Technology is a funny mistress, especially when under the watchful eye of the law.

The Weekly Swarm: 10/7 - 10/13
It's been a busy week at Ruby Hornet. My personal favorite film festival of the year, the Chicago International Film Festival, officially began on Thursday. However, if you know me personally or follow me on Twitter, you'll know that I've been doing prep work for the festival for the past week and a half with over a dozen films under my belt and ready for review with another two dozen in the works. If you haven't had a chance to venture out to catch a few foreign films, why don't you? I wrote a nice 15 film recommendation post for those overwhelmed by the festival's 150 films.
In other Ruby Hornet news, we interviewed Isaiah Toothtaker, Jay Dot Rain, and Borgore, Sarah Silverman will be a part of Fun Fun Fun Fest's comedy lineup, Tyler, the Creator dropped the video for "Tamale," of Montreal released Lousy with Sylvianbriar, Scarlett Johansson was named "Sexiest Woman Alive 2013" by Esquire, LG Display revealed the world's first flexible smartphone display, and more. You can check out all of last week's content below.

Rockstar offers $500,000 of in-game currency for Grand Theft Auto Online
Twitter and Comcast are making it easier to be lazy
Twitter and Comcast are making it easier to be lazy
As if social media didn't already pervade our everyday lives, Twitter and Comcast just signed a deal to make our lives that much more convenient. Twitter will be implementing a "See It" button on users' feeds when Comcast properties are tweeted about. For example, if your friend tweets about Chicago Fire, the "See It" button will be displayed. If you are a Comcast subscriber, clicking the button will automatically launch the show on your computer or internet-ready TVs. Universal films will follow suit, although the "See It" button will link to a Fandango page for the film mentioned.
Do you think this new implementation will be a power move for both Twitter and Comcast, or is the deal invading too much privacy? ...as if posting on a public community forum like Twitter was private in the first place.

Rockstar offers $500,000 of in-game currency for Grand Theft Auto Online
Are you one of the millions who ran into problems when attempting to connect to Grand Theft Auto Online last week? Were you one of the lucky ones to have connected early on, but then became extra unlucky when your character was inexplicably deleted? That's exactly what happened to me when I made my first online journey into San Andreas. After hours of playing with my cousin and friends, I woke up one morning to discover my character was deleted. With the reports of countless others experiencing the same problems, I had faith that Rockstar would be able to restore our progress, leading me to unofficially boycott the game until more updates came out. After a week, I threw caution into the wind and restarted two nights ago. Turns out, that was a great decision.
Rockstar has publicly come out and stated that the loss of characters and progress can't be retrieved. However, to make up for the major inconvenience, the studio will be depositing two installments of $250,000 into the bank accounts of every person that logs into Grand Theft Auto Online and installs the new patch coming out next week until the end of the month. The wealth of money is more than enough for gamers to purchase in-game garages, apartments, clothes, vehicles, etc.
Does this make up for all of the crap gamers had to endure during Grand Theft Auto Online's initial launch, or is it too little, too late?
