[RH Contest] Win a pair of tickets for The Cud Life Tour 2013 (Kid Cudi, Tyler, the Creator, Logic) on 9/20

This Friday, Kid Cudi, Tyler, the Creator, and Logic will be coming to Chicago's UIC Pavilion as part of The Cud Life Tour 2013. As an all-ages show featuring the Odd Future mastermind, Cudi in support of the recently released Indicud, and up-and-coming Def Jam rapper, Logic, this will be the show of the weekend. In case you haven't bought your tickets yet or were procrastinating for the last minute, Ruby Hornet is here to test your luck.

We are giving away a pair of tickets so you can gyrate to "Day 'n' Night" with your best friend/lover/unrequited love/neighbor/cousin/all of the above. To enter, simply tweet Ruby Hornet your favorite Kid Cudi song with the hashtag #RHCudi. You can enter as often as you want from now until Thursday night. Winners will be chosen at random.

You can find more information on The Cud Life Tour 2013 on the official Facebook event page. Tickets for the show are still available, so in case you don't want to risk missing the show, I suggest buying a pair (or two) now.

Riot Fest daily schedules announced

With Riot Fest taking place this weekend as a proper send-off to summer, the only questions regarding the festival were the daily schedules/set times for all of the bands. It wouldn't be punk rock without a last-minute release, wouldn't it? Finally, the set times have been announced for my most anticipated Chicago festival of the year. As luck would have it, I'm not facing many scheduling conflicts. It's as if the punk rock gods were looking over me as the set times were finalized.

You can take a look at the set times for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday by clicking on their days, respectively. We'll also be sharing our top band recommendations later this week, so keep your eyes (and ears) ready for that in preparation for all of the moshing and moon stomping you'll be doing this weekend.

[Event] Dates Announced for "Anything We Want: An Evening With Fiona Apple and Blake Mills"

This fall, Fiona Apple and Blake Mills will set off on a 12-date North American tour. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, August 2, and I will most definitely be getting one. At just age 19, Apple made her debut with "Tidal," a triple-platinum smash album that includes the well-known Grammy-winning single, "Criminal." Last year, the success of Apple's fourth full-length album, "The Idler Wheel...," once again pushed her to the top of the charts and garnered much critical acclaim. Pitchfork named the album one of the "Top 5 Records of 2012," while Spin named the first single off the album, "Every Single Night," a "revelation."

Blake Mills has been all over the musical map keeping busy as an artist, producer, and collaborator. After he produced and released his first solo album, "Break Mirrors," he opened for Apple on The Idler Wheel... tour. Currently at work on his second record, due in early 2014, Mills has worked with a wide-range of musicians from Simon Dawes and Julian Casablancas to Band of Horses, and produced projects by Conor Oberst, Billy Gibbons, and Sky Ferreira, to name a few.

[Event] Kid Cudi, Tyler, the Creator, and Logic at UIC Pavillion 9/20

Kid Cudi's coming back to Chicago this fall! The rapper, in support of his recent album, Indicud, is embarking on a nationwide tour, "The Cud Life Tour 2013," and bringing along Odd Future figurehead Tyler, the Creator and up-and-coming Def Jam rapper, Logic, with him. I know this is far in advance, but tickets will be going on sale next week on July 31st at 10am here. Considering the show is all-ages, it will probably sell out relatively quickly, so prepare to wake up nice and early next Wednesday to get tickets.

Austin's full Fun Fun Fun Fest lineup is full of fun fun fun

After not one, but two Fun Fun Fun Fest leaks, the full lineup for Fun Fun Fun Fest 8 has been officially revealed. Something must be in the air for 2013 festivals, because all in addition to Chicago's Riot Fest, FFFF8 features a number of bands that were (and continue to be) near and dear to my heart back when I was a teenager discovering life. Some of my personal highlights for the 8th Fun Fun Fun Festival include Blake Schwarzenbach (Jawbreaker), Melt-Banana, The Impossibles, Daniel Johnston, and Action Bronson. Hell, I'd fly down to Austin just for Black Schwarzenbach alone, but with the additions of Melt-Banana and a reunited The Impossibles?! Wow.

You can check out the full lineup below, which includes other notable acts as M.I.A., Ice-T, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Lupe Fiasco, Snoop Dogg, Dessa, Descendants, The Locust, and so, so many more. Tickets are available on the Fun Fun Fun Fest website.
