Valee & Jeremih Drop "Womp Womp" Music Video

Chicago artists Valee and Jeremih team up on their new visual "Womp Womp". A crime movie framed with remote control settings changing the language from english to "Womp Womp". The Hebru Brantley directed film makes this their second collaboration.

Valee has been on the steady clime over the past year. Signing to G.O.O.D. Music, Def Jam earlier in 2018. His innovative flow and ability to flip words separates Valee from other new rappers.

Last Christmas fans were gifted a Hip-Hop Holiday album courtesy of Chicago's own Chance The Rapper & Jeremih in the form of "Merry Christmas Lil' Mama". For 2017 we get a new addition to this series with Hannibal Buress pulling up for the festivities, he jests that these two musicians love Christmas maybe a little too much, all in good fun though as this project is purely about good intentions and joy. Tracks like "Big Kid Again" embody this sentiment, Chances energetic second verse details all the struggle he's seen, opting to use that experience to make a positive difference in the world.

The lasting themes of peace, love, and civic pride are something that have always made Chance such an easy character to root for. He deserves to be applauded for sending positive messages not just through his actions but through the actual medium he uses, music, to reach mass audiences. "Held It Down" is a beautiful sentiment reasoning that if one can take care of their mother in every sense, then they have done what needed to be done.

"Merry Christmas Lil' Mama" will really get you in the true holiday spirit, ideally this project and its themes can be enjoyed year long though.

Wednesday night (11/14) Chicago’s Park West opened its doors for the final stop on Coors Light’s 100% free Soundtrack reFresh tour hosted by Hustle Simmons. The Coors Light team partnered with hip-hop DJ and producer, DJ Mustard for its Soundtrack reFRESH tour, which launched in Charlotte with special guest Fabolous.

Anticipation filled the air in Lincoln Park as the crowd stood in line waiting for doors to open. At the start of the show fans had the opportunity to sip on Coors Light and vibe to the beats of Chicago’s own DJ Sean Mac and DJ Toure, who served hot hip-hop tracks during his set. His set included mixes of various songs such as Fetty Wap’s current classic “My Way” and Drag On’s “Down Bottom”. During Mac’s set the concert quickly turned into a hip-hop wonderland as artificial snow fell from the ceiling, covering the hyped crowd as OT Genesis’s turn up anthem “Coco” thumped through the speakers. Park West’s power went off while he was playing Kendrick Lamar's Alright but was soon turned back on and led the party to another high.

As the crowd prepared for the main act, people bustled to the front of the stage. Fabolous eventually jumped onto the stage paying homage to the Chi wearing a Bulls jersey with Sox hat. Fab kept the crowd jumping performing new music from his latest album, The Young OG Project. The crowd sang along as he performed his hits “You Be Killin ‘Em,” “Foreigners” and “Cuffing Season.” The surprise was when Jeremih came through and met Fabolous on stage. They performed their hit song Planes. Fabolous looked tired after 2 songs or so. It felt like he didn't bring his A game. However at the end, he preached to the Chicago fans "he loves Chicago".

Chance The Rapper Hints at New Song

Chance The Rapper has been making the rounds while taking a break from the harsh Chicago winter out in Los Angeles. While on the left coast, he has been spotted in the studio with the likes of Skrillex, Justin Bieber, Jeremih, Common and No I.D., among others. All that time in the booth had to result in something, and today Chano hinted at what fans can begin to expect from his next project, not yet titled and currently in early production. The song is "Somewhere In Paradise" and was unveiled throughout Chance's "Social Experiment Tour" late last year, and again a few weeks ago at a show for DePaul students in Chicago with Jeremih. A soulfully poignant number, the track continues to build on the aesthetics of Chicago music that has come to characterize the young, terribly talented artist, this time taking things to a mix of gospel and juke music for something that is at once dancing and lyrically entrancing. Chance posted the below video to his Instagram last night of himself in the studio with savemoney horn players, Donnie Trumpet and J.P. Floyd getting down and layering the sound throughout. Chance had an amazing 2013, looks like he's cooking something up for 2014 now. Check out the Instagram video and Chance performing the song at The Riviera in Chicago in December.

[Songs of the Day] 2/13/14 (Feat. Jeremih, Kirk Night, Little Dragon & More)

There are a few over-arching themes throughout February that seem to dictate much of the music that is made in the thirty-one days that make up the second month of the year, and it seems each is touched on in our latest entry of today's "Songs of the Day". Leading off our list is Pro-Era affiliate Kirk Night, who lays down what's real in his latest track, "Pussy Facx" while EDM queen Odesza teams up with Madelyn Grant for a dance-inducing romp in "Sun Models". The Game and Problem showed that Midwest slang has finally hit the coast in "THOT", Vulkan The Crusader touches on the important questions this time of the year, offering up, "Do You Remember How To Love?"and Jeremih teamed up with EDM act Shlomo for a new track in "No More". takes things back to "Spice World" on "Say You'll Be There" while Little Dragon gives us "Klapp Klapp". Chicago's young gunners got some play today too as Michael Christmas and Alex Wiley got together for "Step Brothers" and Jams Dean continues the Valentine's Day sentiment with "Why Do I Love You" where he reprises his positive collaboration with producer Netherfriends. Wrapping up today's tracks are RiFF RaFF going country in "Take You Away" and CyHi The Prynce offers up "Coretta" in honor of the wife of Martin Luther King Jr. Check it all out, streaming below.

[Video] Chance The Rapper & Jeremih Debut New Song

Last night in Chicago, Chance The Rapper held a secret show for students of DePaul University at Lincoln Hall in the city. A sort of off-the-cuff decision to do the show, Chance and crew were on a whole other level, taking things to a sort of unplugged feel as Chance was joined onstage by "The Social Experiment," the name for his backing band of Peter CottonTale, Nate Fox, Nico Segal and Greg Landfair, as well as Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart, who performed songs from Acid Rap and 10 Day with ease. Chance, whose manager is a graduate of DePaul, brought Jeremih out not once, but twice, to unveil songs that have yet to properly hit the 'net. In the video below, the pair perform the upcoming single. Live, Jeremih sounded so clear you would have thought he was being mixed and mastered on the spot. Jeremih and Chance also teamed up for the yet-unreleased track, unveiled at The Riviera in November as well. Check out the latest song from two Chicago natives, below.

Fabolous: "It's My Time" featuring Jeremih

Fabolous

Anyone Loso fans out in RubyHornet land?  "Breathe" has to be one of my favorite joints of all time, and since this joint features Jeremih, and since Jeremih is usually good for a couple 'he's so sexy' comments, I'm gonna go ahead and post this new one, "It's My Time".  This is actually the second Fabolous song to come my way today, so you can also get his new one with The Dream, "Throw It In The Bag".
