Jesse Boykins III: "Island of Greatness"

Jesse Boykins

Jesse Boykins may have been born in Chicago, but he's currently claiming Greatness as his new hometown.  That's the gist of "Island of Greatness" a soulful and uplifting new record from Boykins that was recorded for Nike Sportswear.  The song is carried by pianos, rolling drums, and Boykins' vocals.  This is the perfect pull on the hoodie and start stretching record. Download it below.

[Video] theWHOevers: "It's Like That"

Whoevers

"taking y'all to school, and y'all ain't getting out in early June."

Here's something new from theWHOevers, a duo from all parts of Illinois.  Emcees DotKom and J. Arthur take to Chicago's Wicker Park for "It's Like That", an anthem for the little guy on the come up.  Their vocals flow well over the laid back production, making this perfect early morning music.  Watch the new video and below, and look for more from theWHOevers on RH soon.

[Video] Red Hot Chili Peppers: "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie"

I'm With You

Red Hot Chili Peppers' frontman Anthony Kiedis definitely showed up for the orgy he sings about in "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie".  He sports a porno-stache, and some kind of jacket that just makes me think of that scene from "Seinfeld" where Jerry talks about needing to purchase new robes if he were to participate in a threesome.  The video is pretty tame though, and features the Peppers doing what they do best, playing music outside while people watch.  Their festival ready sound returns with their new LP, I'm With You, which will be released August 30th.

J. Cole ft. Trey Songz: "Can't Get Enough"

So for some reason I have been hearing a lot of talk about J. Cole being weak, his singles being whack and his album is going to not be that great. I must be going crazy because everytime I press play on a J. Cole track I can't help but sitting back and saying to myself well sweet hot damn. He once again enlists a slick sample, last time being some Kanye West, and grabs a hold of Trey Songz on the hook to climb over another hump onto his way to his debut album. I smell that another mixtape will be seeing the light before his album eventually does drop and well I am not going to complain either way. J. Cole just makes good music and in the corniest way possible I can't get enough of Can't Get Enough. I think you shall feel the same so grab the track after the jump and enjoy with some good wine.

[Video] The Black Lips: "New Direction"

Pitchfork

The Black Lips turned in one of the best rock albums of 2011 thus far with their latest, Arabia Mountain. Today they a new video for "New Direction" off said LP.  The video is directed Jake Burghart and features the band soaring through space, playing in the middle of a tornado, and flying over mountains.  Pretty dope.

Check out our interview with Ian St. Pe of The Black Lips.

CSS: "Hits Me Like Rock" (Dillon Francis Remix)

Mad Decent's new partner in crime Dillon Francis, is a beast. I've heard countless remixes from the Moombahton specialist and am kicking myself in the head now for missing his set at Camp Bisco X this weekend. Here he takes the catchy CSS single and re-works it to an even more appealing banger, that will be heard at plenty of DJ sets as the rest of the summer. Hit the jump to download + stream.
