Elizabeth Olsen is the front-runner Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Here's some casting news for The Avengers: Age of Ultron: The youngest Olsen sister, Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), is rumored to be the front-runner to portray Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the ensemble film. Originally, Disney and Marvel had their eyes set on Saoirse Ronan (Hanna), but she passed on the role, leading to Olsen's involvement. No word on whether or not the talented actress will accept the role, however.
The Scarlet Witch, alongside her brother Quicksilver, who is confirmed to be played by Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson, are the children of famous X-Men adversary, Magneto. However, they're just as known for their involvement with the Avengers as they are with their fellow mutants and the various X-Men teams. They're also controversially known for their questionably incestuous relationship.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron still has a year and a half before it's released in theaters, so the twins' roles, as well as who will eventually end up portraying Scarlet Witch, are still a ways away from being confirmed.

"Isolated Vocals" shares some classic, vocals only tracks
Have you ever wanted to hear a musician's vocals without a song's production or instruments? Maybe there was a guitar riff or certain beat that was mixed a little higher than you'd like, causing you to miss out on a bar or lyric (that, for some reason, doesn't have its lyrics posted online)? Or maybe you're just a fan of a capella vocals and disinterested in listening to the same loops over and over throughout a song's duration. If you've ever asked yourselves these questions, "Isolated Vocals" just might be the thing for you.
A Reddit category, aptly titled Isolated Vocals, has compiled a collection of vocals-only tracks from a number of both musicians and genres. While some have been edited better than others, there's a good chance you'll find a song that'll pique your interest. Below, I've shared some gems from a pseudo-official Isolated Vocals SoundCloud, including Outkast's "Bombs Over Baghdad," Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre's "Nothing but a G Thang," and Weezer's "El Scorcho."
You can find more isolated vocals tracks from both this Reddit landing page and an "Isolated Vocals" SoundCloud. Don't be intimidated from exploring the Reddit page for more; there are a ton of tracks from all types of genres.
[Video] "Don't Talk" PSA featuring The World's End's Edgar Wright, Nick Frost, and Simon Pegg
[vimeo id="70954115"]
With Edgar Wright's (Shaun of the Dead) next film, The World's End, releasing in theaters this Friday, it's a better time than any to post the Alamo Drafthouse "Don't Talk" PSA that was shot to promote the final installment in the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy. Much like the "Don't Talk" PSA for Before Midnight, this latest PSA features Wright and The World's End stars Simon Pegg (Star Trek) and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) imploring theater audiences to stay off of their phones and not talk through the movie lest they face the consequences.
While the Alamo Drafthouse doesn't currently have any plans to expand to Chicago, I'll continue hoping and praying that the film fanatic-friendly theater will come to their senses sooner than later. If you can't wait until Friday to catch The World's End, I suggest replaying a trailer over and over until the end of the work week comes.
PlayStation 4 will be released on November 15 in North America, PS3 + PS Vita prices dropped to $199
At Sony's Gamescom press conference earlier, they officially announced the PlayStation 4's release date is set for November 15 in North America. This should come as good news for gamers who pre-ordered their PS4s immediately after Sony's E3 conference in which they set the console's price for $399. While an official release date for the next generation gaming console is well and good, Sony also had a few more tricks up their sleeves.
Their current console, the PS3, has received a price drop to $199 in North America for its 12GB model. Of course, storage is expandable if you invest in an external hard drive. The company's portable gaming system, the PS Vita, has also had its price dropped to $199 for both of its 3G/WiFi and WiFi-only variants. As you may remember, the PS Vita is being touted for its compatibility with the upcoming PS4, so it's a no-brainer that Sony would announce a price cut for the system.
With both a price and date set, will you be purchasing a PlayStation 4?

[Video] A$AP Mob & Flex Talk Kendrick
It's the only thing on anyone's mind, or maybe everyone is just taking the easy route for interview questions. But regardless, Kendrick Lamar was brought up again in a public forum, this time on Hot 97 with A$AP Mob and Funkmaster Flex. In response to Kendrick's claim as "King of New York" Rocky said "As far as that King of New York shit, you smoking crack." A breathtaking rebuttal. He goes on to talk about how silly the whole thing has been and how important the verse was for the larger hip-hop game. The ironic thing is that everyone mentioned in the song has been largely seen sitting somewhere talking about what Kendrick said, instead of raising the bar the way K Dot prodded them to.

[Video] Agent Provacteur Ad Starring Irina Shayk
Last week, we shared Irina Shayk's latest photo spread for GQ Russia, and it looks like the model is keeping herself busy. Irina stars in the lingerie brand Agent Provocatuer's newest campaign for their new Fall/Winter 2013 L'Agent collection. Not only did Penelope Cruz direct the video, but with the help of her sister, she also designed the pieces for the line. The setting for the video takes place at a house party where all the women are dressed in lingerie, but I won't say anymore; check out the video below.

Live-action Akira film adaptation has resurfaced... again
Back in June, I shared some concept art from the thought-dead live-action Akira adaptation. For years, every time there would be some progress, the production would find itself halted without fail. Any Akira adaptation news is always taken with a grain of salt as it's become kind of a joke within geeky film circles. I mean, when names like Keanu Reeves, Leonardo DiCaprio, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, and more find themselves attached over the years, no real progress can actually be made.
However, news came out yesterday that Unknown director Jaume Collet-Serra is in negotiations to return to the film after he was attached to it last year. What's different this time around is his vision for the film that can fit within a lowered budget. I'm skeptical over whether or not this will actually lead to the film entering production, as the on-again, off-again project has faced so many hurdles since the anime itself was released in the 80s.
For now, word is that production will begin next year. Will we ever get to see Tetsuo yelling at Kaneda yelling at Tetsuo in live-action?

Harry Potter director David Yates might say hello to Scarface reboot
Scarface, alongside The Godfather, has become the de facto gangster film in pop culture and rap circles. Seriously, who hasn't seen Scarface, or at least seen/heard a reference from the Brian de Palma/Al Pacino version of the film? One of my favorite one-liners from Spring Breakers was when James Franco, as Alien, busted out the, "I got Scarface on repeat," satirizing mainstream rap culture's propensity to praise the film back when Cribs was on air.
However, it's been 30 years since the de Palma version came out (and 81 years since the original version!), and we all know Hollywood is cyclical, especially as we ride the wave of remakes, reboots, and the over-saturation of sequels. Word has arisen that Universal and David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) are in talks to bring a proposed Scarface reboot to the big screen. No plot details or other names have been announced, but the general premise would be to update the story to fit modern times.
How do you all feel about this? While I haven't seen the original 1932 version, the de Palma/Pacino version has become iconic, and any attempt to mess with that legacy might be met with vitriol from those diehard Scarface fans who really do have the film on repeat.
