[Mixtape] K.M. Tha Original: "Better Later Than Never"

The latest from Chicago hip-hop artist K.M. Tha Original is a multi-layered intrinsically complete album that comes stocked with a thematic concept, well-thought lyrics and features from around his hometown to match. K.M. does his thing both spitting verses and singing hooks, occasionally dipping into the Drake side of things, crooning in the middle of bars and seamlessly managing both well. If you haven't downloaded anything new from the Windy City, K.M. is definitely worth a couple gigs of memory on your Macbook. Check out Better Late Than Never below:

[Video] Z-Money: "Jockin'"

Z-Money has been making waves around Chicago and national hip-hop scenes since dropping Heroin Musik earlier this year to skeptical critical acclaim. The mysterious Z-Money, who alleges to not do interviews, has been just that for me to a certain extent, a question mark on the scene I still don't know I have figured out. Regardless, he has an undeniable buzz and persona that will hook even the most staunchly lyrical hip-hop fan. Check out his video for "Jockin" below here.

Vic Mensa

[Video] Closed Sessions: 'The Making of Innanetape'

Vic Mensa has been getting press for days since releasing his re-debut to the world as a solo artist, Innanetape, released at the beginning of the month. Since then, he's traveled around the country touring with J. Cole and Wale, went out to New York for CMJs and popped up everywhere there was a camera and a mic, and is gracing the banner and headlines of most every hip-hop site. Before all that, though, he was lounged back in a desk chair at SoundScape Studios with Mike Kolar, DJ RTC and the crew, working on his latest masterpiece. Check out the short doc Closed Sessions put together from their time helping put together Innanetape, shot by Andrew Zeiter.

Psalm One

Psalm One: "A New Phaze"

Psalm One is currently running around America while on tour, but found some time to cut a new track for fans amidst all the craziness the road can bring. For "A New Phaze" Psalm reached out to production team The Hood Internet, who have been making more and more of a foray into hip-hop production out of Chicago, as well as Brooklyn-based Tanya Morgan and frequent collaborator and tour-mate Fluff Nasty. The song talk about the impact of music on the brain, bringing up an interesting conversation about the responsibility of artists to their musical content. Psalm One is deep, never shallow and "A New Phaze" will get you out of your seat while making your mind wander. Check it out below here and scroll down for the rest of Psalms dates left on her Midwest tour.

Emeli Sandé:“My Kind of Love Remix” (feat. Ab-Soul)

TDE likes itself some female vocalists. It seems like their features are always on point and the dudes at the Black Hippy crew always have use for a sultry crooner to make a track that much hotter. Today, Emeli Sandé comes to us with her latest, a remix of "My Kind of Love," from her 2012 release, Version of Events featuring the one and only Ab-Soul, who himself has gotten a leg up over the past year. Check out the track below:

Chromeo: "Sexy Socialite"

Brooklyn duo Chromeo is back with the second dance single from their upcoming project, White Women. The [air have been building their funk/dance aesthetic for a minute now and it seems to be coming together on all sides with their latest releases that come across more polished and cross-genre able than anything to come out of the Chromeo camp to date. The album is rumored to have guest spots from the likes of Solange, Toro Y Moi and Vampire Try "Sexy Socialite" on here below and take a listen for yourself.

[Album] Black Milk: "No Poison No Paradise"

Detroit's own producer/rapper extraordinaire, Black Milk, is back with his latest release, an album titled No Poison No Paradise. The follow-up to 2010s Album of The Year, Black Milk continues on an instrumentally-packed production extravaganza. He has always managed to push the boundaries of beatmaking while keeping with a very nuanced, idealistic tone to everything his hands touch and early listens of No Poison No Paradise certainly don't disappoint. Check out the project and download via iTunes.
