[Album] Best Coast: "Fade Away"

California soul rockers Best Coast are back with their latest release, Fade Away, which hit Soundcloud today as a full album stream. The seemingly always happy duo of Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno keep the upbeat pace on their latest release. Earlier this Fall they put out the lead single from the project,"I Don't Know How". Check out the full album, available below here:

Eminem: "Rap God"

Man, the internet just moves too quick. Eminem attempted to tease out his latest single, "Rap God," off his upcoming album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. The plans were to release a series of clues, but the song leaked in Europe before the first hint could hit the net, thus the stream via Youtube below. The song, as far as beats are concerned, is very different for Shady, with some of the electronic and house-y elements that grew out of his hometown and now grace neon festivals across the country. As always, Em is on point with his flow, riding a frenetic beat that would give even the best MC a headache and tied tongue. Perhaps it's a beat made for a Rap God? Decide for yourself below.

Favorite Line: "I don't know how to make songs, I don't know what words to use/Let me know when it occurs to you/While I'm ripping any of these verses"

Sufjan Stevens offers Miley advice

Indie rocker Sufjan Stevens isn't happy about Miley Cyrus. No, he's not so much worried about the foam finger grinding, incessant air fellatio, or her increasingly undressed relationship with photographer Terry Richardson that has Stevens worried; it's her use of correct subjunctives and commas. Following Sinead O'Connor's lead, Sufjan penned an open letter to Cyrus, which he posted to his personal website. He got right to the point, harking on the wording in her latest song, "#GetitRight" off her album BANGERZ, released last week. To be sure, Sufjan's letter was much more tame and less maternal than O'Connor's, with some humor there to break the ice. Read below:

Dear Miley. I can’t stop listening to #GetItRight (great song, great message, great body), but maybe you need a quick grammar lesson. One particular line causes concern: “I been laying in this bed all night long.” Miley, technically speaking, you’ve been LYING, not LAYING, an irregular verb form that should only be used when there’s an object, i.e. “I been laying my tired booty on this bed all night long.

But also, Miley, did you know the tense here is also totally wrong. Surely you’ve heard of Present Perfect Continuous Tense (I HAVE BEEN LYING in this bed all night long [hopefully getting some beauty sleep?]). It’s a weird, equivocal, almost purgatorial tense, not quite present, not quite past, not quite here, not quite there. Somewhere in between. I feel that way all the time. It kind of sucks. But I have a feeling your “present perfect continuous” involves a lot more excitement than mine.

Lloyd Banks: "Drop A Diamond" (Feat. Raekwon)

Lloyd Banks is back after an elongated hiatus from the airwaves, returning with none other than The Chef himself, Wu Tang Clan's Raekwon, for "Drop A Diamond" which was released last night. Tha pair of New York heavyweights team up on this track, providing verses from Banks that rival the passionr he had on The Hunger For More way back in '04. Check out the track below and be sure to watch for Banks' upcoming project, All Or Nothing Vol 1: Failure’s No Option, hosted by DJ Drama.

[Mixtape] Chief Keef: "Almighty So"

Chief Keef is back with his followup to 2013's Bang Pt. 2, titled Almighty So. The project, hosted by DJ Scream, is a series of 15 mostly solo tracks that Keef released on Friday at 10:17 in alleged "honor" of Gucci Mane, who is going through his own issues at the moment and could be a sort of peek into the future for the GBE frontman. Bang Pt. 2 was met with mixed reviews, a release this close to the August drop could be recognition on the part of Keef's camp of that reaction. Featured on the album artwork for the project sporting a shirt that reads "Free Keef" with hands on prison bars, the "Don't Like" star gets more personal on Almighty So, touching on his legal troubles and the influx of fame he has encountered in the past year or so. Check it out for yourself below.

[Video] Prince: "Breakfast Can Wait"

Well, Prince is back with a new video for his song, "Breakfast Can Wait" off the alleged upcoming album, Plectrum Electrum. The video itself doesn't feature Prince at all, save for the female impersonator that does a pretty convincing Prince look, mustache and all. By playing on Chappelle's Show jokes paired with craftful choreography and a decent storyline to create a story that appeals to a wide range of fans from several generations. Prince is alive, check him (her) out below.

Disclosure's new video pulled

Earlier today, English electronic duo Disclosure released a video for their song, "Help Me Lose My Mind" off their latest album, Settle. Pretty basic, right? Wrong. The video was quickly pulled from the internet by the duo's record label, PMR, for referencing drugs in the video. Yeah, weird to mention drugs with a song that deals with partying and having a good time with little responsibility. C'mon now PMR, what did you think? Below is an excerpt from the record label's Tumblr page:

The video for Disclosure's new single "Help Me Lose My Mind" was revealed this morning and as with previous Disclosure videos, it was about the connection of people having a good time, something that Disclosure want associated with their music and what we hope people have done when they've seen the band live or while listening to their music. Unfortunately the video has received a few comments referencing the use of drugs within the video.

PMR feel very strongly against the glamorisation of drugs in any capacity and as such we have made the decision to remove the video.
