While on break from tour with Sza, St. Louis native, Smino, is hopping on stage with T-Pain (of whom recently put his signature auto-tune lyrics over the hit, “Anita”). On track with his rising popularity, Smino recently managed to catch the attention of Sway in the Morning. On Sway, Smino speaks to his origins and hustle that finally got his talent and style the credit it deserves. Classick Studios engineer, Elton Chueng, speaks on Smino's "personality that was cutting through the music" in the way he flips words that made his music superstar quality. Smino also goes in depth of how he's learned to guide his style from his first headlining show where he broke his foot after the second show and had to focus on his vocal deliverance, to performing in front of impressive Sza crowds and needing to hype himself up, to now on T-Pain's acoustic tour where he balances between hype and minimalism. Smino frequently echoes his drive for creating his distinct and thoughtful sound throughout the interview.

With the rest of Sza's US Tour and an upcoming sold out headlining show alongside Ravyn Lenae, Monte Booker, Bari and Jay2 at Lincoln Hall for Red Bull’s inaugural 30 Days in Chicago, Smino is surely closing out 2017 only to set the bar higher in 2018.

Seriously, is Black Thought the G.O.A.T.

Black Thought and Method Man appeared together on Sway In The Morning in promotion of their new HBO show, "The Deuce". I don't even want to describe it in great detail, because it is truly some shit you need to see for yourself. The thing I do want to talk about is Black Thought, one of the best emcees (and performers) ever!

This man never even wastes a bar. You'd be hard pressed to present more than 10 bad Black Thoughts lines. Black does two exquisite rounds in this Cypher, and not to diminish Method Man at all, but it's truly an incredible thing to see.

Outside of the content - how dope is it to see Method Man and Black Thought cypher together on a radio show in 2017? The back and forth alone is classic material and I sincerely hope someone has a grainy home recording of the audio - a true bootleg gem...

...you know,  if bootleging was still a thing, and you had to record the radio with a tape deck and couldn't just enter this url into one of those youtube ripping sites and then just like have the audio to do whatever you want with it...

[Video] Childish Gambino: "Pound Cake Freestyle"

Merely hours before releasing his newest single "Worldstar", Childish Gambino's "Pound Cake" freestyle surfaced on the internet through the popular Sway In The Morning show. The multi-talented artist had stopped by the Shade 45 offices earlier this week and held it down while rapping over Drake's collaborative track with Jay-Z. CG gave a very personal and thoughtful verse on money, fame and depression while providing his unique flow on the popular instrumental. Check it out below.

[Video] ScHoolboy Q Interview on Sway In The Morning

q

Q has been making his radio rounds as he prepares his newest LP Oxymoron, and he recently checked in with the big homie Sway. The interview produces classic conversation from the two; as Q shares that the Schoolboy Q strain of OG Kush he purchased at a medical club is horrible, and to make matters worse the clerk didn't even know who he was servicing. The interview took an interesting turn when Q took questions from a couple caller, one being solely about Q working with Chance. Def pumped for this. Watch below.
