[Video] RICOH THETA Brings Spherical Photographs To The Masses
RICOH has created a new camera that takes full spherical photos in just one shot, something that is new to the digital photography world. No more messing around with panoramic shots on your phone, the camera, named THETA, easily takes them with just the push of the shutter button. "The THETA’s ultra-slim twin-lens optical system snaps the view from around, above and below the device to create seamless panoramas." As soon as you take the photo, it is automatically sent to your smartphone or tablet for you to do what you please with it. You can expect to pre-order this starting in October, but until then check out the video and see what this camera is capable of.

[RH Video Premiere] Netherfriends 8/20 Bust
Earlier this month, Netherfriends set out to make Kind of Buzzed, vol. 6 as special as it could be, and what's more special than recording in front of a live audience on top of a rooftop in Chicago at sunset? Unfortunately, like all fun things in Chicago, the cops came and busted the party. Netherfriends, however, was able to record a few beats where he chopped up Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" before we were forced to leave. My good friend FragD Films was also able to shoot some footage of the shortened set, resulting in the "Netherfriends 8/20 Bust" video that you can watch below.
Recording for Kind of Buzzed, vol. 6 Round 2 has been rescheduled to take place at Cafe Mustache on September 6th. Details for the night can be found on Facebook. The recording will follow a listening party of Kind of Buzzed, vol. 3, as well.

[Video] Dean Norris spoils Breaking Bad's ending... kind of
Breaking Bad is, hands down, one of the most consistently amazing TV shows I have ever spent time with. If any of you have watched an episode, or at least overheard discussion about Walt's (Bryan Cranston) story, then you know how engrossing the series can be. With the series' end only weeks away and the tension building with every passing episode, excitement is high for fans to see how show creator Vince Gilligan will end the story.
Annoyed by fans bugging him about how Breaking Bad will end, Dean Norris shared some insight on the final episode, the aptly titled "Hank Wins." Norris' character, Hank, proves to be victorious over Walt, then faces a series of fortunate circumstances that I won't spoil for you outside of this amazing text he receives from his wife, Marie: "U CAN SEX NE1 U WANT U DA KING! ALSO U R WALT JRS DAD NOW 4 REALZ"
Breaking Bad at its finest, ladies and gentlemen.

Latest gameplay trailer for FIFA 14
A new gameplay trailer for FIFA 14 was released recently. Narrated by Captain Picard himself, Patrick Stewart, the new trailer showcases some of the next-gen graphics and a new engine for the popular EA Sports football (soccer) game. We all know that the sport itself isn't exactly popular here in the States, but it's the game all across the world, especially in Europe. Microsoft understands this, and have recently announced that every European Xbox One pre-order will come with a free copy of FIFA 14. Also announced during Microsoft's brief Gamescom conference is an Xbox-exclusive FIFA 14 mode, "Ultimate Team Legends," which will allow gamers to create their own custom teams consisting of some of the sport's top players of all time.
FIFA 14 will be released on September 24th in North America with a September 26th release in other regions for those of you who like their sports hands-free.

[Video] "Don't Talk" PSA featuring The World's End's Edgar Wright, Nick Frost, and Simon Pegg
[vimeo id="70954115"]
With Edgar Wright's (Shaun of the Dead) next film, The World's End, releasing in theaters this Friday, it's a better time than any to post the Alamo Drafthouse "Don't Talk" PSA that was shot to promote the final installment in the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy. Much like the "Don't Talk" PSA for Before Midnight, this latest PSA features Wright and The World's End stars Simon Pegg (Star Trek) and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) imploring theater audiences to stay off of their phones and not talk through the movie lest they face the consequences.
While the Alamo Drafthouse doesn't currently have any plans to expand to Chicago, I'll continue hoping and praying that the film fanatic-friendly theater will come to their senses sooner than later. If you can't wait until Friday to catch The World's End, I suggest replaying a trailer over and over until the end of the work week comes.
[Video] A$AP Mob & Flex Talk Kendrick
It's the only thing on anyone's mind, or maybe everyone is just taking the easy route for interview questions. But regardless, Kendrick Lamar was brought up again in a public forum, this time on Hot 97 with A$AP Mob and Funkmaster Flex. In response to Kendrick's claim as "King of New York" Rocky said "As far as that King of New York shit, you smoking crack." A breathtaking rebuttal. He goes on to talk about how silly the whole thing has been and how important the verse was for the larger hip-hop game. The ironic thing is that everyone mentioned in the song has been largely seen sitting somewhere talking about what Kendrick said, instead of raising the bar the way K Dot prodded them to.

[Video] Kids Use Hip-Hop As A Way To Understand Science
Dr. Christopher Edmin a professor of education at Columbia University's Teacher College has gone a different route in hopes of influencing public school children to learn about science through hip-hop. What Edmin ended up creating was a program called, "Science Genius which is part of a national push to try and influence minorities into taking interest in science." This program eventually in true hip-hop fashion birthed a competition where the kids battled it out on the mic with lyrics centering around the topic of science. Titled B.A.T.T.L.E.S. (Bring Attention to Transforming Teaching, Learning and Engagement in Science) the students performed to a panel of judges that included the Wu Tang Clan’s GZA. Looking back it just seems right to have a member of Wu Tang on the panel because there had to be at least one reference to science in every Wu track. It's refreshing to see alternative ways to teaching the youth of this country and if hip-hop can help do that I don't see why more educators wouldn't want to explore it as an option. Check out the video below and see what the kids learned and who took home the trophy.
