WHITE-OWL: "WAX TRAP VOL. 5 (TRAPPED IN AMSTERDAM 2003 FLASHBACK EDITION)"
#100Trill member WHITE-OWL recently dropped the next mix in his Wax Trap series, "WAX TRAP VOL. 5 (TRAPPED IN AMSTERDAM 2003 FLASHBACK EDITION)." This new volume features remixes and songs by Team Bayside High, Flosstradamus, Kanye West, Chief Keef, James Brown, and more. If there's one thing to say about WHITE-OWL, it's his insistence on mixing together as many artists from varying genres as possible.
If "WAX TRAP VOL. 5 (TRAPPED IN AMSTERDAM 2003 FLASHBACK EDITION)" got you in the mood, you can catch WHITE-OWL tomorrow, June 20th, at Rehab's The Reyka Summer Solstice at Debonair with Team Bayside High, PHNM, Hiroki, Matt Roan, and a DJ set by Ghosthouse. Information on that event is here.
WHITE-OWL: "WAX TRAP VOL. 4 (AMSTERDAM EDITION)"
WHITE-OWL returns to the scene with his new mix, "WAX TRAP VOL. 4 (AMSTERDAM EDITION)." In contrast to his last mix, "WAX TRAP VOL. 3 (TURNT UP EDITION," "(AMSTERDAM EDITION)" is a bit more chill and laidback. Suddenly, the name becomes more evident. WHITE-OWL himself calls it a mix of other stuff and "Future Bass." I call it "Bump n Grind" music. Get it!
"Let's get ratchet! Let's get ratchet! Let's get, let's get...!"
WHITE-OWL: "WAX TRAP VOL. 3 (TURNT UP EDITION)"
A month ago, we introduced the world to 100Trill, a duo formed between Grade Aplus and MikeJaxx, with their song "'93." Over the past month, the duo have added a third member, WHITE-OWL, to fulfill their wishes to bring a full hip hop experience where the DJ is an equal part of the equation. WHITE-OWL, whom some might recognize as Cadillac Duke's DJ, has over a decade of turntable experience under his belt. He's also not against scratching, which I personally consider to be a lost art of DJing.
"WAX TRAP VOL. 3 (TURNT UP EDITION)" is a good example of WHITE-OWL's DJing abilities. He chops together everything from The Pharcyde's "Passing Me By" to a trap remix of "Suavamente," in the mix. You can check it out below, and if you find yourself getting "TURNT UP" to WHITE-OWL's mix, you can catch him DJing a set this Saturday at Beau Monde's "Inside the Vault" art show featuring art from Know Passion, Lefti, Derrick Baker, Robert Bank, and my LOD brother ABC Kills.
